Devastating injury for Athletics prospect Ryan Lasko.

During an on-field play he broke his neck, specifically fracturing the C6-C7 vertebrae after colliding with a teammate. Below is an X-ray of what it would look like.

Required emergency spinal decompression and stabilization surgery Tuesday night and is currently in stable condition.

At this time, due to swelling around his spinal cord following surgery, Lasko does not have feeling in the lower half of his body.

It is not clear when the long-term diagnosis is.
