@KnicksCentral If they keep their guys, the bar for me is making it back to the finals. The Spurs getting better or a healthy OKC taking us would disappoint, but I think that's where the Knicks are at this point. Competing with the best in the league.
@JacksonNBA6@KnicksMuse That's a bit more fair, considering no team has repeated in 8 years. All of them were favored to though, which is why my money is on the Knicks surprising everyone and doing it again.
@JacksonNBA6@KnicksMuse The starting line up is literally all signed through at least next year.
It's extremely difficult to win an NBA Final at all, never mind 2, but the idea that it's 'obvious' they have no shot at repeating is an INSANE take at this point.
@MisterCa55@alanhahn Mount Rushmore isn't the hall of drought busters. It's the best of all time. Considering there's 4 major sports, the best NY player from each sport makes the most sense. Some recency bias is at work as well, otherwise Ruth would replace Jeter.
To that end, the answer is Bossy.
@BenStiller I actually do feel just a twinge of sadness. Because this was such a fun run, I'm a little bit sad that it had to come to an end, even if the ending was exactly what we wanted it to be
@KornblumKorner These rankings are silly, bc everyone is applying it to the long term. Over a full season, there's a few guys who will put up better stats than Brunson, for sure. But if the ranking is asking who do I want in the 4th quarter of a Finals game to make sure you win it, he's #1.
@MSG_Rocking It's true. Even if they go on to win again next year, it'll be great, but part of the journey was the cathartic nature of winning for the first time in most of our lifetimes.
@WeBleedBlueNYC If it's 1 from each sport? Brunson for basketball, Namath for football, I think Bossy for hockey (4 Stanley cups beats the one off of 94'), and for baseball Jeter is a great pick of recent heroes, but any of Babe, DiMaggio, Mantle, or Jeter would do.
@swaniibwoi Let's see what the Knicks (and other teams) do in the off season, but for the most part they're pretty young, and will likely run most of this squad back.
They've been building up to being better and better for 4 years now. No reason not to believe they'll keep trying.
@valtryeks I LOVE that we did it in 5, so they can't even question whether they could've won, if, for example, they had barely lost in a game 7 to the Knicks. They HAVE to reckon with the fact that they simply got out played by a better team.
@UncleTweets@KFCBarstool Hating on guys is every bit as fun as loving the guys you root for.
I'm a Knicks fan, and Wemby has revealed himself as a really good villain for us, and honestly the rest of the league (minus San Antonio) too.
Weird of you to assume there's only one way to like basketball.
@UncleTweets@KFCBarstool Um, what? That dude is the dirtiest, low class, immature player I've seen in QUITE some time. ALL he's got is his height. He doesn't know how to close, he makes mental mistakes, and he's selfish. How anyone other that Spurs fans can like him blows my mind.
