Not sure how this will impact what I just built for Canadian freelancers and gig workers called https://t.co/dj0IUCKLRM to automate their expense reports but things move so fast it was worth it for my own taxes this year. I just asked my own accountant about it, will see what he says…
@trq212 How is it for expense tracking? As a freelancer that is where most friction is for filing taxes. I used Claude Code to build https://t.co/BF7xgJ9chy to make it dead simple here in Canada, auto-categorizing transactions to CRA T2125 eligible deduction categories.

The only issue with having Claude Code run all of your documents directly through Opus is that they train their model on your data. You can avoid that by directing the files to Opus or Sonnet via the Anthropic API which does not allow data to train their models. I built https://t.co/dj0IUCKLRM using this, so all sensitive data is parsed before hitting the API and if anything gets through its only stored for 7 days and then deleted as per the Anthropic documentation. I also built scripts inside it using Claude Code so that each statement generates a parser by the AI when a novel statement is recognized and then each subsequent statement from that institution will be parsed internally and not touch the API again ensuring your data stays with you. https://t.co/PRl98fYrA0 is for Canadian freelancers and gig workers to collect their expenses and doesn’t do the additional tax filing stuff yet, but thanks for the post, its amazing this is all possible and the future is bright for people keeping more of their hard earned dollars!
Fun Factoid 80’s New Wave Rendition:
On this day in 1980, Tubeway Army wrapped sessions on Replicas, the album that defined early British synth-pop and set the template for Gary Numan’s machine-driven sound.
@TrendingValue Wow! Sounds like cart before the horse applies to their approach. I ended up taking an adult business course at George Brown about 10 years into my career just so I could understand what it meant to be incorporated. Personal finance has been a series of life lessons though.
@TrendingValue Excited to follow you and to hear your stories and advice. As a creator and editor this is relatable content. They don’t teach the business part of freelance at film school. Having this type of resource when I started my career would have helped tremendously.
