The case against myself: Japan's savings were confiscated in 1946. Burned flat, occupied, currency destroyed twice.
Despite this, It passed its prewar income level within eleven years and was the second-largest economy on earth by 1968.
No analyst wrote that down in 1945 and it would be unwise to write off the USA today.

Four doors: hike, hold, cut, or fix the deficit.
Three can be walked through by unelected officials, with costs that arrive invisibly. The fourth needs a recorded vote.
So the wage earner pays - the only party to this arrangement who never gets a ballot on it.
Thank you to the sailors of USS Abraham Lincoln, finally coming home after 260+ days at sea. And I'd be remiss not to mention USS Gerald R. Ford, which had its own record-breaking, year-long deployment. Real sacrifice -thank you to both crews.
