@babybeginner Also, FYI, you seem mostly to be talking about Gen Z, not millennials. Tho, to be fair, your thread was so incredibly long and tedious that I didn’t bother to read the whole thing.
@babybeginner You’re correct: young ppl are growing up in a new media env. amid unprec. stresses. Yet rather than respond w/empathy, support, ways to mitigate stress & also embrace empathy, you cull internet absurdities & call them evidence of a debased gen. Seems kinda mean-spirited, y’know?
There is literally no debate anymore - if there ever was! Dozens & dozens of Western medics, doctors & nurses, eyewitnesses, are saying Israel is targeting kids in Gaza, shooting them in the head, deliberately murdering them. These are some of the worst crimes of the 21st century
I hope today can simply be an example of the type of stress and whiplash student loan borrowers go through. It's frustrating, really, because there are nearly 50M folks making financial decisions off news like this.
You probably saw these tweets today. Well, they're all wrong.
I definitely want to know who in particular decided it'd be a good idea to start imposing penalties on millions of student loan borrowers 35 days before a close election.

In the end restarting student loan payment was driven by Biden and he got what he wanted. There are many righteous criticisms to make of the GOP & SCOTUS & the courts, but this one is on Biden. People have a right to be angry and to address that anger correctly. 8/8
Dems have the power to stop the coming wave of defaults and absolute chaos. Student loans are not a niche issue. Student debt is the 2nd highest form of household debt in the country. PAUSE PAYMENTS.
Proponents of debt as a solution to national problems seem to have been, errrm, wrong.
These @nytimes recommended books try to map out what went wrong—including a new book that specifically covers the student debt crisis by @ryannliebenthal: https://t.co/niuQQqc0Jv
I was so buoyed to see this article by @mashagessen in the @nytimes about @BrooklynCollege’s cowardly cancellation of a @JewishCurrents event on its campus; Gessen’s anger is a much-needed balm for my own enraged heart.
