Imagine if the internet had been framed the same way....digitization and the internet could present a danger to our country and to civilization so we need to regulate what companies can operate on the internet. The Internet is not problem-free, but overall it has been a big win for humanity.

You've posted about Mrs Price before and it gives me hope. My 12 year old also refers to school as prison. He is very smart, but has trouble reading because he could not pay attention the first few years of school. He also loves science as well. He has made huge strides over the last year because I took an hour most weekdays to read and do math with him after school. Without me spending the extra time with him, I think he would just be pushed through the system. Hopefully, by the end of this year he will be caught up with the others his age.

Be careful what you wish for. Could you imagine if Google wiped out the MLS system? No one to talk to if there is a problem. Arbitrarily ban you for "violating the terms of service" but never explaining how you violated the TOS. Then the cost...free at first until there was no competition, then they would charge like they do in roofing...send us a HVAC lead...that's a $200 lead charge. Someone calls looking for the roofing company that did their roof last year and they can't remember who...$200 lead charge (and they might call 20 different roofing companies).

Eliminate property taxes and instead increase the sales tax at purchase and make that local use only. In the case of Real Property, increase the amount paid in deed stamps at purchase and make that local use. People will no longer be renting their property yearly from the government and people who buy a home will never pay any more taxes to keep their property, ever. And they will never be forced to sell or lose their home because they can't afford to pay property taxes.

Why do they not operate the cooling systems for Data Centers on a closed loop and run lines underground to cool the water before returning it back to the data center to repeat the cycle?And if I remember correctly, VA has more Data Centers than any other state..I assume because of its proximity to DC.

@rossiadam Why do you think Google searches are so limited today? Do you think it is because there is no profit to be made for them in most search results so instead the show sponsored content? Sort of like Amazon does when trying to find an item?

Agree 100% on vouchers. Even poor children should be able to attend a private school if that is the best path for them. The fact that we have children graduating that can't read or write should be a shock to every American. And yet we hear politicians campaign on "it would get better if we spent more money". Here in NC, the teachers unions are running a marketing campaign right now. Billboards everywhere that say, "If you want better schools pay the dadgum teachers." It is really a political campaign to support the Democrats, and as soon as the election is over in November, the billboards will start going away. One way to improve education IMO is to disconnect education from politics. Decisions and plans should be based on outcomes, not campaign rhetoric.

@MargoinWNC I think most Law Enforcement vehicles have the automatic shutoff disabled so they can leave the vehicle running. Most new vehicles auto shut off after 15 minutes if the key fob is not in the vehicle.
