Feel free to DM/email me!
I’m looking for a postdoc interested in researching human impacts to river-floodplain connectivity! If you’re a good fit for this NSF-funded position @CSU_CivE, please consider applying. @CSUEngineering@ResearchCSU @TransformIMW https://t.co/DgXUrddzMN
New paper alert🚨
Urbanization plays a crucial role in flood extent changes. Hydroclimatic variability alone cannot explain variability in seasonal surface water.

It’s been another great year of fieldwork at this site downstream of the Cameron Peak Fire burn area! This year we saw a big debris flow, multiple other floods, continued riparian veg recovery, and lots of large wood transport!
I'm looking for a new PhD student! Will have some flexibility to choose their project, but will likely involve some combination of groundwater, InSAR, geophysics, process-based and machine learning modeling. If interested, see this link: https://t.co/3HikK2CXpk
We welcome Nicholas Christensen to our doctoral program! Nicholas is working with Prof. @ryanrmorrison on network scale hydraulic modeling with simulated stream restoration techniques. He looks forward to rock climbing in Poudre Canyon.
We welcome @jderbique19 to our master's program! Jack will work with @ryanrmorrison to calibrate 2D hydraulic models to post-fire regions & more accurately depict flood in these regions. "I am looking forward to playing more gigs around local bars & restaurants with a funk band!"
Seeking a full-time research associate to work on Indigenous post-fire governance and management priorities in the SW US, other forest/fire governance studies, and building the CSU Climate Adaptation Partnership. MS or PhD necessary. Plz RT and apply! https://t.co/Z79qO03H80
This is a UAV-SfM point cloud and orthophoto of my field site that had a large flood recently. I'm amazed that even in the point cloud, you can see the direction of flow (L to R lines in the light-colored grass) on the floodplain where the grass was laid down. @ryanrmorrison
