YouTube + CTV Will Be the Fastest-Growing Ad Channel in 2025
Here's are the most important things I've learned spending 8 figures on the platform last year:
There's a glitch in the advertising matrix.
Almost no one exploits it.
It's called Google Display Network, and it's still the most slept on platform for combined volume and profitability.
I set up my first GDN buy in 2015. That's when I learned about pay-per-conversion bidding.
The crazy part? It's 99% the same today as it was in 2015.
Not clicks. Not impressions. Conversions.
Name another platform that does that. It doesn't exist.
Here's all you need in 2026:
- 1 great offer (owned or affiliate)
- 1 great landing page
- Great creative, at volume
That last part is where everyone quits. With today's tools, one person willing to put in the work can crank out hundreds of banners a day. That's the unlock.
Most companies I talk to either never test GDN seriously or give up before the machine learning has enough data to work with.
The playbook is simple: take your best funnel from another platform, build GDN creative for it, and commit the first $25K to $50K to let the algorithm find its footing.
If you are as good as you think you are, you will get a hit and unlock pay per conversion.
If you don't see it unlock, you need stronger performance. (Better creative, conversion rate, or just more time.)
That's the price of admission to unlock what can easily become millions a year in profit.
Most people never pay it.
That's exactly why the glitch is still there.
A lot of people are digging their career's grave right now.
Phoning it in at a job. Collecting a paycheck, working remote, doing the bare minimum.
They think nobody notices. Maybe nobody does.
But while they coast, they're not building skills.
Not using AI daily. Not learning to orchestrate it.
They're volunteering to be first out the door when AI capabilities jump.
They think they're playing the system.
They're playing themselves.
Knowing how to sell is the biggest game changer right now.
It's so easy to build shit, but 99.9% of people have no clue how to find leads, uncover pain, and sell the thing.
Incredible salespeople are positioned to be 100x'ers.
Google Display Network on cruise control: 140% ROI.
Not our biggest volume account, but great ROI and zero risk - all on pay-per-conversion.
How our tech works:
- Launch campaign, activate rules
- Platform pauses, lowers, or scales spend based on performance.
That's it.
Do everything you can to maximize neuroplasticity.
New restaurants. New cafes. New seat in the cafe. New music. New workouts. New hobbies. New languages. New countries.
Yes, consistency is important, but if you want to access new thinking and creativity, you have to have new experiences, and you have to have them often.
Jensen Huang just made the case that the smartest person in the room is now the most replaceable person on earth.
Huang: “The definition of smart is somebody who’s intelligent, solve problems, technical. But I find that that’s a commodity. And we’re about to prove that artificial intelligence is able to handle that part easiest.”
The skill you built your entire identity around was the first thing the machine replicated.
Not the hardest part. The easiest.
Huang: “People who are able to see around corners are truly, truly smart. And their value is incredible. To be able to preempt problems before they show up, just because you feel the vibe.”
Huang: “That vibe came from a combination of data, analysis, first principle, life experience, wisdom, sensing other people.”
The vibe is not intuition. It is decades of failed bets, human friction, and first-principles thinking compressed into a single read no model can replicate.
You cannot prompt your way to it. You earn it by surviving things that had no instructions.
Huang: “I think long term the definition of smart is someone who sits at that intersection of being technically astute, but human empathy and having the ability to infer the unspoken, around the corners, the unknowables.”
Every institution you ever passed through graded you on the one thing the machine now does for free.
The thing they never tested you on is the only thing that still matters.
Huang: “And that person might actually score horribly on the SAT.”
The SAT did not measure intelligence. It measured obedience to structure.
The future does not reward what you can solve inside a framework someone handed you. It rewards what you can see when no framework exists.
The machine did not replace human intelligence.
It revealed that what we spent a century calling intelligence was never intelligence at all.
The people who memorized the answers are about to work for the people who sensed the questions before anyone thought to ask.
There is a process that I have used, and still use, to reignite life...
Create two timelines—6 months and 12 months—and list up to five things you dream of having (including, but not limited to, material wants: house, car, clothing, etc.), being (be a great cook, be fluent in Chinese, etc.), and doing (visiting Thailand, tracing your roots overseas, racing ostriches, etc.) in that order.
If you have difficulty identifying what you want in some categories, as most will, consider what you hate or fear in each and write down the opposite.
Do not limit yourself, and do not concern yourself with how these things will be accomplished. For now, it’s unimportant. This is an exercise in reversing repression.
Be sure not to judge or fool yourself. If you really want a Ferrari, don’t put down solving world hunger out of guilt. For some, the dream will be fame, for others fortune or prestige. All people have their vices and insecurities. If something will improve your feeling of self-worth, put it down.
Drawing a blank? In that case, consider these questions:
1) What would you do, day to day, if you had $100 million in the bank?
2) What would make you most excited to wake up in the morning to another day?
Don’t rush—think about it for a few minutes.
If still blocked, fill in the five “doing” spots with the following:
— one place to visit
— one thing to do before you die (a memory of a lifetime)
— one thing to do daily
— one thing to do weekly
— one thing you’ve always wanted to learn
What does “being” entail doing?
Convert each “being” into a “doing” to make it actionable. Identify an action that would characterize this state of being or a task that would mean you had achieved it. People find it easier to brainstorm “being” first, but this column is just a temporary holding spot for “doing” actions.
Here are a few examples:
1) Great cook —> make Christmas dinner without help
2) Fluent in Chinese —> have a five-minute conversation with a Chinese co-worker
Determine three steps for each of the dreams in just the 6-month timeline and take the first step now.
Define three steps for each dream that will get you closer to its actualization.
Set actions—simple, well-defined actions—for now, tomorrow (complete before 11 A.M.) and the day after (again completed before 11 A.M.). Once you have three steps for each of the four goals, complete the three actions in the “now” column.
Do it now. Each should be simple enough to do in five minutes or less. If not, rachet it down. If it’s the middle of the night and you can’t call someone, do something else now, such as send an e-mail, and set the call for first thing tomorrow.
If the next stage is some form of research, get in touch with someone who knows the answer instead of spending too much time in books or online, which can turn into paralysis by analysis.
The best first step, the one I recommend, is finding someone who’s done it and ask for advice on how to do the same.
Your brain is hostage. Your entire personality is hostage.
You cannot grasp how much better your life will become if you stop watching TV, using social media and all overstimulation.
Reduce your activities to only:
-Work
-Reading (fiction is fine)
-Exercise
-Low-stimulation creative hobbies (guitar, writing, etc.)
-Direct human interaction
No scrolling. No TV. No drinking. No video games.
Intentional. Purposeful. Boredom.
Through this boredom your brain will reach absurd clarity. Left alone, this clarity will turn towards things that improve your life. Those things will become addictively fun.
Here are two simple ways to test yourself.
A) Crack open a fiction novel. A good one, so you have no excuses. Can you sit and read for an hour straight?
95% of people cannot do this.
B) During the day, measure how much time you spend doing nothing.
If you are like most people, there is not a single moment where you sit with your thoughts. Zero moments where you allow yourself to be bored. Every empty moment is filled with a screen/some form of stimulation.
If you can't do A...And B is out of control...The solution is to simply...Start practicing both.
Drop all the overstimulation. Give yourself only 4 options.
Work
Read
Exercise
Sit and be bored
That's it.
You will be shocked how easy 1, 2 and 3 become when you don't give your brain any other option.
Even better...You will notice your personality and creativity returns...that vibe you had when you were a kid...when you allow your brain to just sit...
Do it. You'll unlock super powers.
the truman show is the perfect representation of the average life that people around you live
everything around them is fake and scripted. relationships, media, careers, friends, laws, politicians, sports, jobs. never spending a day choosing a single thing about their life
My advice to anyone starting out:
Develop a very strong opinion about yourself.
Know exactly who you are & who you are not.
If you don't, someone else will try to tell you who you are, and you might just start believing them.
