@HankFrank Normally 10-12 weeks of disciplined eating and big training volume gets me where I want to be weight wise on race day.
3 weeks post race day and I’m back to square 1!
@DavidDack Haven’t raced a half in a couple of years, but last full had a 1:15:30 first half (won’t talk about the second half though!)
Keen to set my sights and properly train for a half at some point soon and see what the body can do
@HankFrank I ran 3:58 and then said ‘fuck it I want to go sub 3’. Next marathon i worked my ass off and I ran 2:59. Then I said ‘fuck it, I want to go sub 2:40 within the next year’ next 3 races were 2:46, 2:40.01 then 2:38.
9 days until I hopefully hit my new goal at Boston!
Set them high
@ronnieschaniel@tim_roozendaal Agree, I love just rolling the legs over for a few km after a big session knowing that the effort is done for the day and now you can just soak it in.
I normally feel worse mentally in the last stages of the warmup knowing what’s about to come!
@samclementt Normally around 90km-100km between blocks just to keep the volume. When building I’ll get to 170-180km
This block started early December, peak in 4 weeks.
