@jacksmithdotxyz @DeGatchi You might enjoy Conceptual Mathematics by Lawvere and Schanuel. I enjoyed reading your independent learning blog post, and it got me thinking that you might enjoy combining that book with programming exercises that involve concepts from linear algebra and calculus.
@JustDeezGuy Oooh, I will need to check that out when I can. I find those super helpful. I wrote out the glossary from Tony Hoare's Communicating Sequential Processes when I started reading math/compsci again and its been indispensable.
@JustDeezGuy Funny story, I don't know SQL very well, but 20 years ago when I was in hs, I went all in on trying to implement Codd's rm v2 spec. Made an repl for ra and rc queries because my school didn't have a dbms for us to run sql queries on. Learning sql now, "distinct" makes me cringe.
@zack_overflow Good stuff! I like the symmetry of learning to approach dense domain expertise in multiple passes by practicing on the dragon book. I am on my first pass right now, and its very fun to just be an explorer on the first go!
