@40_solutions Regarding cynical issue #2: disagree with your assessment. Most companies close their source because there is no perceived benefit (technical or financial) for publishing their code. Also, high quality production code is time consuming and harder than people think.
Just found another useful project in @codeplex that I needed to download the archive before the July 2021 shutdown. Many projects haven't bothered moving, but even though they are "dead" they might be useful to others. I say extend CodePlex for another year or two.
Finally getting around to capturing all of my Sony Digital8 tapes. Not for the faint of heart though. Involves Firewire, WinDV, Powershell (fix creation date), Handbrake (avi to mp4), and exiftool (fix creation date again). #digital8#mp4
Crazy day where I had to go through old boxes and find my serial cables, null modem dongles, gender changers, and 9<->25 pin adapters in order to test some serial communications. And locate another laptop with an actual serial port. It felt like 15-20 years ago. Wow.
Tis the Christmas season, and for breakable things. I've already used super glue on 5 different broken ornaments, figurines, and other things. Oh and an emergency fix on a broken CMOS battery holder (used special plastic glue for that). #superglue
