Great experience at #CANSEC2026 week 🇨🇦
Highlight was talking to engineers from smaller teams like ANVIL on how they approach open problems in data and defense systems.
That’s a wrap on #CANSEC2026. The pace and conversations this year carried a noticeably different tone – greater urgency, renewed industrial confidence, and a sharper focus on sovereign capability.
Prime Minister @MarkJCarney's remarks captured that shift directly. Canada is “building again” – investing at scale in defence, accelerating procurement, strengthening Arctic and NORAD capability, and placing far greater emphasis on Canadian industry, innovation and supply chains.
For us, that’s refleted in our production of #MadeInCanada solutions across RPAS, C5ISR and ASW. Industry is taking a more integrated role in Canada’s security architecture, and that recalibration is becoming more evident across the sector.
Thanks to everyone who made time to connect with the team over the last two days – those conversations are exactly where progress starts.
This was a massive project done over 3 months. Find the full 6-part breakdown covering the math, what broke, how I fixed it, how to measure domain gaps, and final benchmarks below👇

A rare disease appears. You only have 23 labeled X-rays. Training a model from scratch will completely fail.
The fix? Self-supervised learning.

We just rebuilt journalism.
@kaibo_huang , @lucashjin , @ryanzhou147 and I built Argus over the weekend.
We aggregated 20000 data points, and won 2 tracks at Hack Canada.
Still a WIP right now, but I’m excited to build it out.
Back-to-back hackathon wins: ListenHacks last weekend, Hack Canada this weekend.
Me, @lucashjin, @Tpypan, @kaibo_huang walked away with two prizes.
Built Argus. Still early, but excited to keep building it out.
Loved meeting the founders who sponsored our track.
staying up-to-date with world events is vital.
@kaibo_huang@Tpypan@ryanzhou147 and i built argus for this (2x hackcanada winner).
