Ryburn Sixth has launched Mental Health Mentors training. This is an opportunity for students to develop skills whilst supporting their younger peers. Holly Button from North Point well-being team and Mrs Logan from Ryburn Sixth will complete the sessions with students.

Yesterday our Vocational Skills students held a fantastic coffee morning in celebration of all of the hard work they have done this year and for the grand opening of the brand-new pergola installed in the garden.
Our Year 12 had their Silly Sports Day where they competed to be champions in three-legged races, egg and spoon, tug of war and most importantly, welly throwing. Well done to all of our winners and competitors for taking part.
Our Year 13 students had their prom last week and got to end their time with us on a high note. We wish all of you the best of luck in your journeys beyond Ryburn.
Our prestigious Ryburn Academy Awards are back. We are so excited to celebrate students' success at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax.

On Wednesday, students heard from professionals in the charity sector, filmmaking, music technology and computing. Thank you very much to our guests, Pam, Julius, Chris and Soufiene for coming and showing students the various routes to get onto different career pathways.
Tomorrow marks the start of our Pride week events. We're starting off with a selfie station during break times. On Thursday we have our after-school celebration and we'll be ending the week with a colour run. We can't wait 🏳️🌈.
The after-school talent show held by our LGBTQ+ Committee was fantastic. Everyone who participated was amazing and showed a lot of support for one another too. Next Week is our Ryburn Pride Week and there will be events and activities running from the 3 - 5 May. We can't wait!
The Year 13 Prom will be held Friday 23 June at The Fleece in Ripponden. Tickets are now available to purchase at £35 on ParentPay. The price includes a complimentary drink and a deluxe buffet. The theme this year is 'The Oscars' and we can't wait to see you on the red carpet.
Transport is currently running as usual, but there is the chance of an early pickup should the weather deteriorate. We will keep you informed as the day progresses.
For World Book Day, our students had the fantastic idea of a book swap. What a great way to share in each others' interests and discover something new!
Year 12 had a trip to the UCAS University and Apprenticeship Fair in Manchester today, where students could speak face-to-face with representatives from over 100 universities, colleges and apprenticeships.
