Amen. I quote Star Fox 64 so often, even my wife quotes it. People really should not underestimate how iconic this game is. In some corners of the early internet you couldn’t escape it.
Star Fox 64 is one of the most quoted games from the early days of the internet and has lines that run laps around the MCU in how corny they are
And everyone still loves that dialogue regardless
Maybe I’m just getting old but I’m beginning to think every RPG should have exp/resource modifiers. I don’t want to grind if I can help it and I don’t want to feel forced to do a ton of side quests to keep up with the level curve all the time — looking at you Torna…

2020 is an anomaly of a year for the industry due to the pandemic and shouldn’t be considered a baseline. But really, they can’t be surprised. The pace of games coming out since like 2022 has been pretty poor so of course less units are selling…
Sony’s own financial reports show that PlayStation first-party game sales have fallen significantly since their peak in FY2020.
First-party game sales reached 58.4 million units in FY2020 before declining over the following years. While sales rebounded slightly in FY2025, they remain well below FY2020 levels.
Numbers by year:
- FY2020: 58.4 million units
- FY2021: 43.9 million units
- FY2022: 43.5 million units
- FY2023: 39.7 million units
- FY2024: 28.9 million units
- FY2025: 32.1 million units
Despite the FY2025 recovery, first-party game sales are still down about 45% from their FY2020 peak.
@BrettConra30075@DireRavennn 10000%. I don’t know how so many people could overlook the quest design when it spans the entire game. It’s a system that doesn’t translate well to an action adventure.
🚨 RUMOR FROM SOFTWARE 🚨
My copium is that this is intentional so next week they can come back and be like “just kidding” and drop the price of each version by $150 so they look like they solved a problem.
Not to mention that we’re at a graphical plateau and experiencing longer development cycles than ever before… we’re good with current hardware for at least 3 more years.
The thought of any new video game console in the next few years just does not excite me at all because of the prices
The shit we have NOW is already too expensive, there’s no way the Steam Machine, PS6, and NeXtbox will have even remotely reasonable price tags
Square is so trash these days. And they wonder why they can’t build brand loyalty with younger fans. Entire childhoods ending with 0-1 game in a franchise.
Not just 8 episodes a season but with 4 year breaks between seasons because we’re supposed to remember everything that happened 4 years ago or rewatch it, right?
Every video games series on wikipedia is like this now:
- 2001-2007: A game every single year
- 2008-2015: A game every two to three years
- 2016-2026: Absolutely fucking nothing outside of a failed mobile game
Modern Final Fantasy doesn't respect your time, I'm almost 30 hours into Rebirth and I feel like I did only 2 hours of the main story. Meanwhile the other 28 hours is: Filler cutscenes, generic Sony-world map sidequests, mini games etc.
