"Our girls were messing around upstairs when one of them accidentally put her body straight through the drywall.

A few seconds later, my 9-year-old came running downstairs — crying and completely panicked.

When we walked upstairs, she pointed to a **giant hole in the wall**.

The guilt on her face said everything.

She didn’t need me to shame her.

She didn’t need me to make her feel worse.

She was already there.

“I’m so sorry!” she sobbed.

“I know you are,” I told her.

Then she whispered, terrified,

“Daddy is going to be so mad. I’m not ready to tell him yet.”

“That’s okay,” I said.

“When you’re ready, you’ll tell him.”

I went downstairs and told my husband:

“The kids put a hole in the wall. A big one. M is really upset and trying to work up the courage to come tell you herself.”

In that moment, we had two choices.

We could yell and make her feel smaller than she already did.

Or we could accept her — even in her mistake — and recognize how brave she was for coming to us at all.

Because moments like this matter.

How we respond right now will shape whether she comes to us with her mistakes in the future.

And that’s the real gift.

Today, my daughter is still sorry.

She even offered to give up her Christmas presents and all her savings to help fix the wall.

But more importantly, she’s walking around knowing something else too:

She is loved.

She is safe.

And she can come to us with anything.

She didn’t need angry parents to understand her mistake.

She needed grace."

Six days ago petrol was N774 per litre.

Today it is N1000.

Dangote has suspended loading three times in one week. Every suspension is followed by a price hike.

The next one is likely Monday.

This is not a refinery problem. This is a war in the Middle East reaching your fuel tank in real time.

Brent crude jumped 26% in days. Global refineries are shutting down. Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz is being disrupted.

Nigeria built the largest single train refinery in the world and petrol is still being priced by events 6,000 miles away.

Local refining protects supply. It does not protect price.

That is the lesson.

Each of the big 3 (Gemini, Anthropic, ChatGPT) have 3 different ways they want you to use AI.

ChatGPT wants to keep you inside a chatbox. That's their entire goal. That's why they are putting ads in chat, instead of trying to connect ChatGPT to everything.

Anthropic wants you to connect claude to everything you own. They want to become the center of your AI world. Plus, they want to become the platform everyone uses to build. Think "The AI OS".

That's why they built MCP, Agents and Cowork. It's also why they don't have a really good "Talk to Claude" feature. At least on par with ChatGPT or Gemini

Google on the other hand, does not actually want you to use the Gemini App. They want you to use Gemini in their other products. Gmail, Google Search, Google Docs, Excel, etc.

This is why each of them excels at different things.

ChatGPT will double down on trying to make the best possible chatting experience. They will try to get you to experience the inteenet from inside a chatbot

Claude will try to get you to use them to build anything. Skills, Agents, MCP...the whole shebang.

Gemini will try to get you to use different products with the same account.

Opal, Antigravity, NoteBookLM, Gemini in Meet, Excel, Drive, etc.

They don't even have a dedicated projects folder ffs, and their chatbot is meh.

So, depending on what you are trying to do, pick the best one.
