@alexandr_wang Plumbing shops and grocery stores using AI to run the boring ops is the real story.
Not another “AI will take your job” headline. Just tools that make normal work less painful.
@elonmusk Honestly the funniest part is how accurate that feels.
Half the AI fear discourse acts like the model already has wifi, a passport, and a bank account.
@cb_doge You don’t think they’re shorting it hard do you?
I’m trying to buy as much as possible while the price is low— I mean I hate Elon and want his companies to fail!!
Sell your shares guys, the ship blew up, don’t you read the news?
👀👀
As long as we can keep these people on Reddit without the power or influence to limit the rest of humanity as we progress forward to space and beyond we'll be good.
Imagine wanting to ruin multiple massive US companies serving 100k + jobs and progressing technology in automotive, rocket, internet service, and many other industries all because you have an unhealthy hatred of someone's politics.
Yeah...Normally you'd tell those people to touch grass but I'd rather they stay locked in their houses and never come out. 🥴
"I don't want it easier to get a passport because Tru---I mean uh AI, yeah AI sucks and uh something something, this adds more government! I thought MAGA hated more government?! Yeah it makes a time consuming annoying as hell process a lot easier but Trump is doing something goo-- I mean this add more government into our lives!!"
Compute really is king.
Goes to show that both Openai and Anthropic better hope they can stay ahead of SpaceX and to a lesser extent (for now) Google in model quality.
Because if those two ever catch up, they'll be able to dominate the market by sheer compute capability.
This timing for this announcement does temper DevDay excitement for me most definitely. Especially if rumors of no new model is true.
@OpenAI 20+ launches?!
I'm excited but at the same time skeptical because I think everyone knows a lot of those releases will most likely be hardware and software (Codex app, CLI) updates.
The idea that “bottom 2%” only means poor, non-criminal citizens is laughable.
People who make posts like that know what most people mean by it: criminals, violent and seriously mentally unwell people, scammers, and folks living off the system with zero interest in fixing their own life.
They know that. They’d just rather reframe the argument into “you want to erase the nice old lady in a broken apartment” or “the family whose dad just got laid off,” because that’s easier to fight than the actual point.
@kimmonismus So Florida wants a court to freeze OpenAI from building new models because some people got spooked.
This is how you keep regular people stuck while the tools that could help them actually improve their lives get gate kept by politics cosplaying as "being for your own safety"
It was definitely a take. A confidently bad one, but a take none the less.
It wouldn't have been as embarrassing if he hadn't doubled, tripled, and quadrupled down just because he has an irrational hatred of Elon.
Makes it worse when he is now blocking people left and right as well as hiding all replies to his most recent posts. At least take your ridicule like a man.
The idea that the bottom 2 percent only includes poor non criminal citizens is laughable.
People who make posts like that know that when people refer to the bottom two percent of individuals most people are talking about criminals, violent mentally unwell people as well as scammers and those who live off the government with no plans for self improvement.
They know this but they’d rather misconstrue the point and reframe the argument to only mean the nice poor old woman who lives in her broken down apartment or the family whose dad just got laid off.
@elonmusk Still can’t believe I watched Starship hit orbit like it was just another Monday. Feels less like a trailer and more like the future actually showed up.
Honestly starting the week already feeling kinda good?
1. Starship actually made it to orbit (still can’t believe I got to watch that live)
2. The AI news stopped sounding like pure hype and more like people shipping stuff
3. Muse AI starting to show the average person how AI can actually benefit them
From the standpoint of a hobbyist the future is actually starting to show up from what I thought of when I was a kid.
@kimmonismus Agree. It seems to me that fear content is easy. Easy to get clicks, easy to push, easy to make money off of.
Being excited about the future though gets you called naive.
Doesn't matter, still excited.🫡
I mess with AI as a hobby, not a job.
And lately it stopped feeling like a toy.
I was able to make a genuinely useful dashboard that I use at work everyday. Actually made my job a lot more streamlined.
If that’s not the “something changed” moment, I don’t know what is.
@MizusPuddle@ryukazuya5 They think the whole "Oh you guys are acting like we do, isn't that hypocritical? Gosh you should just take the high road like you always preach about. Btw aren't you a Christian, turn the other cheek right?" is still going to work. 🤨
