This thread made me think⦠and my theory is that photographers are in hibernation.
Many photographers, especially the great ones, have been around for a while and have gone through many bear markets. They know how to survive, how to make ends meet, how to diversify income, work with corporate clients, drive Uber/Lyft, whatever it takes to keep doing what they love, which is photography.
This bear market in NFTs is not their first time at the rodeo. The market dried up and so they did what they always have done, which is to survive these downturns. It may seem like they arenβt as active, it may seem like NFT photography is dead, but it is not. It is just hibernating. Photographers are still actively honing their craft, working with companies like Apple, but still doing their signature work. They are shooting still shots for famous directors like David Fincher or working with the biggest names in the music business, or putting themselves into harms way to photograph the devastating wars happening right now.
This is all to say that NFT photography is very much alive, they are still chatting in group DMs, helping each other, and still creating great photographs, buying new cameras and lenses, and most importantly still capturing the world in unique ways that only they can see.
@eleonorabrizi Was wondering where you were getting a $20/month assistant. Now it makes sense ha. What kind of tasks have you found Ele to be useful for?
