“Quiet minds cannot be perplexed or frightened but go on in fortune or misfortune at their own private pace, like a clock during a thunderstorm.” (RL Stevenson)
@JayceLong I love this.
So grateful for the therapists who have helped me heal by simply being with me through my difficulties. I know several were affected and it meant a lot to me to see that my suffering mattered to someone. ❤️🩹
@Jeremy_Peeples@NoNonsenseND Oooo. I wonder what you mean? I don’t want to assume. I think relationships are quite fragile at the beginning so “withdrawals” or screw ups can have a devastating effect.
@jordanticus@philosopherjstr I just don’t think the organizing principle of people’s lives is sex. (I’m sure I’m misunderstanding/ overgeneralizing in many ways. I need to reread.) It’s more about meaning/purpose, spirituality, aligning w something larger than the self. Perhaps I’m naive. And a Jungian. lol.
HAPPENING NOW: protestors brave the 100+ degree heat in Big Bend to fight DHS border barrier and road construction through the park. Bulldozers are tearing into the national park just a mile downstream. CNN is going live on site.
One of the most difficult shots I ever took. Favaritx lighthouse right before totality in Menorca, with my friends at photopills. Shooting from a boat in choppy water. Never again 😂

"What is Ukraine?" The fifth lecture in my new online course, "Hitler and Stalin Today."
Ukraine has to be at the center of a class on Hitler and Stalin, because it was at the center of both men’s mental worlds.
