I’d add this the PMC review on father involvement shows Black fathers, including many nonresident dads, are often more engaged than claimed. Protecting our babies is something we should encourage everywhere.

Father absence doesn’t mean “no abuse.” Abuse comes from access partners, relatives, authority figures. And the “absent Black father” trope is a lie. I’m active in my daughter’s life.
