@jaredadairbell@pauljacobbrown@LDS_Dems This is a great example of why I left religion. "If my wife asks, "Can I ..."" is enough to tell me you and I are not the same. Religion has misshapen humanity to an unrecognizable shell of itself.
@sermons_com@caitlinmwhite1@j_divis My LDS grandma used to do this. "The heavenly father", "the BYU". It sounded quaint / outdated to me. But seeing your perspective is triggered this memory. Are you saying that putting "the" in front somehow makes him less of a direct spirit father? Bizarre.
@NotYourBishop@GuyInco15542744 Stick of Judah and stick of Joseph regularly misinterprets the point of the scripture. See how obvious it is to others: https://t.co/SoMGvmASoB
@NotYourBishop@GuyInco15542744 Matthew 15:11, "It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth—this defiles a person" (CSB) LDS concordance: every mention focuses on words, no mention of how Jesus was equally condemning the Pharisees' focus on how or what is consumed.
Let’s avoid the argument of what it means for the Church to “allow” or “make exceptions,” and go straight to the BS idea that states should respect those exceptions because “the Church does.”
You don’t think the Church would be completely ok if there was a total and complete ban?
You think the Church would think to make any statement saying “Actually, we think these circumstances should be allowed for abortion?”
No, they’d be thrilled for any and all restrictions to abortion.
The Church chooses life. You and I both know it.
“Well, what about the life of the mother?”
That’s not at all what the Church means about choosing life; hence, the scriptural references to killing when talking about abortion.
It’s not “killing” if a mother dies due to childbirth, it IS “killing” if the mother chooses to end the life of someone else.
@BasedMikeLee You see what you want to see. The MAGA delusion is real. There’s no GOP strategy - just beat the culture war drum and pretend you’re some fiscal conservative hawk when you’re not. Then you all complain the bills meant to help natural disasters weren’t the ones you voted against🤮
Just a total lie by the greatest amplifier of lies on the planet. He said if there is ANOTHER catastrophic storm FEMA won’t have full funding unless Congress authorizes more, which over 100 Republicans voted against last time. Nothing to do with migrants in any way.
@MrJonCryer It’s not undocumented immigrants that have no money, snatching up homes , that’s increasing home prices, it’s Private equity firms & hedge funds, you know the people who are literally bank rolling J D Vance’s career..
