It probably doesn't help my reputation that I'm on board with Blue Lock for now, though I predict it will get really dark and possibly too dark for me.
I really wanted to like the remake of Urusei Yatsura, having never seen the original. However, after three episodes, I can say that it's not for me, and that my reputation of having bad taste still stands.
I'll dream bigger still. If they can remake Urusei Yatsura, they can remake Saint Seiya. Though after the 2014 CGI movie, which everyone hated but I loved, there's probably no point.
I made it eight minutes into the first episode of Chainsaw Man, which was probably more than enough to give me nightmares. Once again the show that has everyone talking is not for me.
Boku no Hero Academia had better cool it with all this profound and heartrending stuff after that 18th episode. Otherwise I might have to raise it to 9/10 at MAL, making it my highest rated long-running series.
Still have to start rewatching Bounen no Xam'd, but I just noticed that "bounen" means something like "lost remembrances." And I have certainly lost every single last remembrance.
@thetangles That would be great. I'm still going to try to convince Aggie Bro and Sis to take a trip to Austin soon, because I've heard you have a Kura Sushi! Besides, Aggie Nephew lives in Austin.
Well, I didn't remember the RahXephon movie either, but I actually liked it better than the TV series. Even though, as far as I can tell, it is made largely from scenes that were cut from the TV series. Easy 8/10 at MAL.
@thetangles It seems to have as its goal telling a slightly different version of the story, by combining elements of the original series (in a different order usually) with scenes that got cut from the TV series. I should lend it to you if I make it to The Enemy City this summer. :)
Next on my rewatch list will be another series with an X in it, namely Bounen no Xam'd. And this show I've forgotten entirely, even including the MC's name, although I gave it an 8/10 at MAL. This is gonna be good.
@JeskaiAngel I can easily take another 12 episodes, that's how much this show has me in its grip. But I do hope that it's not going to be another 100 episodes.
@crslydeadcat I got past the rings in the wild, and just need to do the ones in town -- unless there's more after that, which wouldn't surprise me. With any luck, I'll be streaming Genshin tonight. :)
I remembered absolutely nothing of RahXephon all the way through the last moments. I'm beginning to wonder if in my innocence I had actually watched the movie. So I'll watch that too.
I think it will keep its 7/10 rating, but it's certainly an ambitious show that gives a much more striking impression than my complete lack of memory should indicate.
I have about 4-5 episodes of RahXephon left, and I can reiterate in no uncertain terms that I had forgotten everything except the surname of the MC. I'm beginning to question if I had really watched it all so long ago, except I did rate it 7/10 at MAL.
