I have to admit this feels like the trajectory that, a generation or two down the road we are unable to maintain our infrastructure after some event disrupts our day to day. ‘We don’t know how to do that anymore’ is a terrifying sentence. That said, I happily use Grok to help w day to day coding tasks :)

Because it’s what she was conditioned to expect? We were poor at one point, and I told her if I brought home a bottle of cola, it was a coke flower. I never bought cola, but she loved it (not from the US), and so when I wanted her to know I was thinking of her I brought her a bottle of Coca Cola. Same thing with the engagement and wedding f rings (diamonds, not cola)

I think this is for those of us civvies that do not have any connection to the military (sadly more and more of society today). For the rest of us, especially us slackers that didnt serve, it’s a refreshing experience to find people that have mission focus. And my life has put me in a position to value these traits and know who to hire :)

@SGTWipper1Each For me, I was raised between bases with my light bird dad. Told me son, dont join, unless you wanna see your friends hosed out of the back of a helicopter. In the end I chose my wife and civilian life and supporting my friends that were serving.

Nowadays the ‘right’ is this huge tent of ‘not a commie’. It will shake out over the next decade, but for me that is the primary determining factor. It’s a bi-product of the DSA etc conquering the rational left, but god help us let’s keep the tent big while we defeat that threat. We can go back to our petty squabbles later.
