Making money first before chasing passion will always be the best choice
Yes it’s possible to go for passion and still make it but in today’s world the odds are so little
Once there’s enough money and connect most other things becomes easier to achieve
When I was still a die hard musician sleeping in studio and jumping up and down music was my all but lack of finance hindered me a lot
I was on call last night with a Top Nigerian producer who has worked with Omah lay, Ayrastarr, fireboy and many other top artists
He sent me an invoice to my mail and the price was a few millions for a record and something struck my mind
In 2019 I could save money for two months to record a single track that isn’t upto 60k and now I’m getting a bill over 2.8m and I don’t even need to save for two weeks to get it
The difference between then and now is that I can now connect with top people in my passion industry more easily than before
I can now afford to not only sing but shoot quality videos and promote too
I no longer do regular tickets at events, I can now afford tables to help me connect with reasonable people
Pausing the passion to make money first was the best move for sure cos now I’m feeling more comfortable doing music cos
The last 3 recordings I did - a producer brought his studio to my house and it was so comfortable and I have a deal to do silent promotions and get real streams with 30% ROI for my catalogue
I’m not even back yet and anything music I’m doing for now is just fun to me cos I’m still looking for money 😂 but I’m happy actually that I didn’t remain there waiting to blow instead of going out to make money first
Make money first my guy - you can use money and good Marketing to force your music down the throats of Nigerians later
But as you’re recording make sure you have a side hustle so you don’t suffer more than necessary
I wish y’all luck ❤️
