En este Editorial, @cesarvidal analiza la guerra de Estados Unidos contra Irán y establece un paralelismo histórico con Vietnam: dos conflictos iniciados sin una declaración formal de guerra del Congreso, con enormes costes humanos y económicos y con el complejo militar-industrial como uno de sus principales beneficiarios. Vidal sostiene que la actual intervención estadounidense no solo plantea un grave problema constitucional, sino que amenaza con provocar consecuencias económicas globales incluso mayores que las derivadas de Vietnam.

El editorial se centra especialmente en la reciente y ajustadísima votación del Senado estadounidense que rechazó, por 50 votos frente a 49, una resolución destinada a obligar al presidente Donald Trump a poner fin a las hostilidades contra Irán. César Vidal repasa la Ley de Poderes Bélicos de 1973, las anteriores votaciones del Congreso y los argumentos de quienes sostienen que la Administración está manteniendo una guerra sin la autorización constitucional necesaria.

Vidal recuerda cómo la guerra de Vietnam terminó costando la vida a más de 58.000 militares estadounidenses y consumió ingentes recursos económicos, mientras generaba enormes beneficios para el complejo militar-industrial. A partir de ese precedente histórico, analiza el coste creciente de la guerra contra Irán y sus repercusiones sobre el petróleo, las rutas energéticas internacionales, la inflación y el riesgo de una nueva crisis económica mundial.

El editorial aborda asimismo el papel de Israel y de organizaciones de presión como AIPAC en la política estadounidense. César Vidal sostiene que la influencia de estos grupos resulta fundamental para comprender tanto el inicio como la continuidad de las hostilidades y cuestiona que los intereses de la población estadounidense estén siendo prioritarios en las decisiones adoptadas en Washington.

También examina las consecuencias geopolíticas del conflicto, especialmente el creciente control de Irán y los hutíes sobre rutas estratégicas para el abastecimiento energético mundial. Según el análisis expuesto en el programa, prolongar la guerra aumenta el riesgo de un encarecimiento generalizado del coste de la vida y de una crisis económica internacional de enorme magnitud.

César Vidal concluye reclamando que el poder legislativo estadounidense ejerza sus competencias constitucionales y ponga fin a una guerra que considera ilegal, innecesaria y perjudicial para los propios ciudadanos estadounidenses y para el resto del mundo. Una situación que, advierte, podría terminar teniendo consecuencias todavía más graves que las provocadas por la guerra de Vietnam.

🇮🇷|Iranian Jews and Christians Marching Alongside Muslims in Tehran. The West Never Shows You This. Because It Destroys Their Narrative.

Iran has the largest Jewish population in the Middle East outside of Israel. Estimates range from 8,000 to 25,000. They have a guaranteed seat in the Iranian parliament. They have synagogues in Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz. They have schools, community centers, and kosher butchers. Their synagogues have been designated as national heritage sites by the Iranian government.

Iran has over 300,000 Christians. Armenians and Assyrians. They have two guaranteed seats in parliament. They have churches that have stood for centuries. They have monasteries that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

And now, they are marching alongside Muslims in Tehran. Against the United States. Against Israel.

Not because they are forced. Not because they are paid. Because they see what the US and Israel are doing to the region. Because they see the bombs falling on Gaza. Because they see the sanctions strangling their country. Because they see the same enemy that Muslims see.

The West Cannot Show You This

Why? Because the West's entire narrative about Iran depends on one thing: the lie that Iran is a homogenous, oppressive, Shia theocracy that persecutes minorities.

If Iranian Jews are marching alongside Muslims, that lie collapses. If Iranian Christians are protesting alongside Muslims, that lie collapses. If Iranian minorities have seats in parliament, that lie collapses.

So the West doesn't show you this. It shows you "women, life, freedom." It shows you "Iran oppresses minorities." It shows you "the regime is on the brink of collapse." And then it shows you a clip from a Persian-language channel funded by Saudi Arabia or the CIA, and calls it "news."

The Deeper Truth: Iran Is a Civilization, Not a Sect

Iran is not a "Shia state." Iran is a civilization.

◾ It has Persian, Azerbaijani, Kurdish, Arab, Baloch, Turkmen, and Armenian citizens.
◾ It has Muslims, Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, and Baha'is.
◾ It has Shia, Sunni, Sufi, and secular Iranians.
◾It has liberals, conservatives, reformists, and radicals.
◾ It has poets, filmmakers, scientists, engineers, and athletes.

The 1979 revolution did not create a "Shia theocracy." It created a republic that includes all Iranians who accept the constitution and the revolutionary framework. Those who don't can leave and millions have. But those who stay including Jews and Christians are not "dhimmi." They are Iranians.

Why They March Against the US and Israel

Because the US and Israel are their common enemy.

◾The US imposed sanctions that affect all Iranians, regardless of religion.
◾ The US bombed hospitals and schools in Iran, regardless of who was inside.
◾The US targeted 85% of Iran's oil tankers, regardless of who owned them.
◾ The US threatened to shut down every Iranian airline, regardless of who was on board.
◾The US supported the MEK, a cult that killed Iranians regardless of their faith.
◾The US supported Jaish al-Adl, a terrorist group that kills Iranians regardless of their sect.
◾The US backed the Shah, a dictator who tortured Iranians regardless of their religion.

The US doesn't distinguish between Muslim, Christian, and Jewish Iranians. So why should Iranian Jews and Christians distinguish between Muslim, Christian, and Jewish Iranians?

They don't. They march together. Against the same enemy.

The Truth the West Fears

The West wants you to believe that Iran is a prison. That its minorities are hostages. That its non-Muslims are waiting to be liberated by American bombs.

But Iranian Jews are not waiting for American bombs. They are marching against American bombs. Iranian Christians are not waiting for American liberation. They are marching against American intervention.

Because they know what happened to the Jews and Christians of Iraq. After the US invaded, Iraq's Jewish community one of the oldest in the world was almost completely destroyed. Iraq's Christians also among the oldest in the world were massacred, displaced, and driven out. The US did not protect them. The US created the chaos that destroyed them.

Iranian Jews and Christians see what happened to their co-religionists in Iraq, Syria, and Gaza. They are not waiting for the same to happen to them. They are standing with their Muslim neighbors against the common enemy.

The West will never show you this. But it happened. And it is happening now. And it is the truth.

Es verdad, y es terrible: el modelo de producción académica del Nuevo Testamento tal como existe desde hace 150 años se va a romper en 24 meses. Ojo, no “la fe”. El campo: los comentarios de 800 páginas, las tesis doctorales de cinco años sobre un versículo, los congresos de SBL donde se pelean por matices de un participio griego, las cátedras que viven de que solo ellos “saben leer el texto” están a punto de morir.

La bomba es la IA de razonamiento profundo (los nuevos modelos) Heilig ya demostró en 2024-2025 que GPT-o1 puede descomponer la estructura proposicional de un versículo paulino en griego con un nivel que la mayoría de doctorandos no alcanza. Lo que a él le costó meses de análisis lingüístico, la máquina lo hace en segundos y con una consistencia brutal que el ser humano ya no puede alcanzar.

La iglesia va a tener que replantear su modelo de enseñanza, porque hoy, mientras se da una homilía o un sermón, el feligrés puede hacer “fast check” al momento y tener acceso a un análisis 10 mil veces superior de lo que cualquiera de estos hombres pueda decir. El límite va a ser el deseo de aprender, es todo.

Estamos ante el cambio más grande de paradigma que jamás hubo desde los tiempos de la Reforma Protestante. Y por cierto, quien lo está diciendo no es ningún improvisado, Christoph es teólogo protestante alemán, del grupo de investigación en LMU Múnich sobre narrativa y focalización en textos cristianos primitivos, fellow de la Academia Bávara de Ciencias en el proyecto de IA y religión, y autor de libros serios sobre Pablo y el Imperio (Hidden Criticism?, The Apostle and the Empire, Paul the Storyteller)
