I did not know that in colonial India, there were 4 travel classes in trains: 1st class - European, 2nd class - European & Eurasian, 3rd class - Indian & 4th class - Indian. In 1885, after protests by nationalist organizations, 3rd class was renamed Interclass (intermediate)..1/3
