The @RwangaFdn participated as a key partner in the 5th NORAQ project partners meeting, hosted by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (@ICMPD) in Vienna, Austria.

The NORAQ project aims to support returnees in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region through comprehensive economic, legal, and psychological assistance, helping ensure their sustainable reintegration into their communities. The project also focuses on strengthening the capacity of local institutions to effectively address migration challenges and raising awareness about the risks and consequences of irregular migration.

I was honored to meet His Holiness Pope Leo XIV @Pontifex today in the Vatican.

I reaffirmed that Christians and all religious communities are not only an integral part of the Kurdistan Region’s history and identity, but continue to shape its future.

I reiterated to His Holiness that protecting their rights, dignity, and peaceful presence in their ancestral homeland will always remain our duty.

I expressed Iraq’s and the Kurdistan Region’s deep appreciation for the Vatican’s moral leadership and its important role in promoting dialogue and coexistence across the world.

I also recalled with gratitude the late Pope Francis’ historic visit to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and extended an invitation for His Holiness to visit Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani has begun a two-day official visit to the Republic of Italy and Vatican City State.

During the visit, President Nechirvan Barzani will be received in audience by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV at the Apostolic Palace, and will hold a meeting with the President of the Italian Republic.

The President will also meet with senior officials of the Italian government and the Holy See.

The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with both Italy and the Vatican, and on deepening cooperation across the political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields

Coexistence isn’t just a value. It’s a practice.

In the hills of Kani Tuzi, Dinarte sub-district, Rwanga Foundation brought together 150 young Kurdistanis, Muslims, Christians, and Yezidis, for two days of leadership, scouting, sport, and shared purpose.

Teachers, journalists, women’s and youth organisations, and outdoor specialists joined the camp to build something simple but powerful: stronger ties across communities, sharper skills in the next generation, and a deeper commitment to protecting Kurdistan’s natural beauty.

Autism advocacy has always been one of the causes closest to my heart. In line with our work at Rwanga Foundation, we continue to build, with a deep sense of responsibility, the level of care available to those who are neurodivergent.

Today, @RwangaFdn opened an autism center in Qaladze in coordination with the local authorities, alongside vocational courses delivered through a specialised training lab.

In Baghdad today, President Nechirvan Barzani met Prime Minister-designate Ali al-Zaidi and Coordination Framework leaders. The President reaffirmed Kurdistan Region support for forming a strong, inclusive federal government and resolving outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad on a constitutional basis.

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani is set to visit Baghdad on Monday.

He is expected to meet leaders of the Shiite Coordination Framework for talks on outstanding files between Erbil and Baghdad and the priorities of the incoming federal government.

Today in Kifri, @RwangaFdn hosted the Spring and Kifri Festival in coordination with the Kifri District authorities.

The day brought together handicrafts, traditional Kurdish cuisine, the Hallaji cotton-beating craft, beekeeping, photography, and a work and technology corner.

Young people joined a professional CV-writing workshop, families accessed free health screenings, and visitors learned about safe migration through Rwanga’s ongoing project with the Government of Finland and ICMDP.
