Here is a cybersecurity guide prepare by us for @themetav3rse and @mv3nft communities, but we believe it should be posted to public as well. Have fun during the events y’all!
For anyone that didn’t join the space @rpnickson just blew everyones mind and done a wallet drop! These mfs leading @mv3nft just airdropped me 150 free nfts which is about to kick start the next crazy phase of this project!
A new NFT wallet draining exploit is taking shape that uses a mixture of social engineering and takes advantages of the "degen meta"
Let's break it down
You probably have heard about email breach on OpenSea which happened yesterday. Verm prepared a threat on it and why it’s important to change your email addresses and password in few services 👇
There’s extremely new bug in Office documents able to execute the code on your computer- be aware and better just don’t click unknown URLs in Office documents today.https://t.co/p14aqeTPDk It’s SUPER EVIL, as NO MACROS are needed in .doc (Word) file for code being executed ‼️‼️‼️
@vaibhavshan @LeeDB3eth @80rd3aux Just install the antivirus of your choice, then run the malware scan. If It detects something then it should be also able to remove malicious files. If you are still not sure if you are safe, just try to backup your important data, wipe the device and that’s it
🚨 Careful with ETHERSCAN! 🚨 There is a pop up for "Nftapes win" that attempts to immediately connect to your wallet relentlessly! Close your open tabs. Don’t sign anything. THIS IS FAKE. Just don’t sign any transaction rn
People. Please DO NOT ENABLE macros when you download a random excel/word/pdf document from the internet. It is not that tough to steal your soft-wallet files using a macro in an excel file. And please use a STRONG password. Password123 AIN'T A STRONG PASSWORD
If someone is gonna spam you with MFA requests.. please don’t approve at all cost. It’s no reason to approve ANYTHING you don’t know about. If it’s not initiated by you, it’s 100% sure that someone is trying to scam you. Stay safe #web3security
There are also people on Twitter trying to provide you the “support” email address as [email protected] OR providing fake “Google form” to contact MetaMask Support. THESE ARE FAKE. Don’t click on that links.
Dear Everyone, There is a scam email going around from **Fake metamask** support asking people to connect wallets and verify accounts or they'll shut the accounts before 11th May
BE CAREFUL AND NO NOT CLICK THE LINK IN THE MAIL
