“We built cities all over America that are designed for automobiles and not designed for people... Our housing costs are high, in part because of the way that we've designed our cities."
- @GovDougBurgum North Dakota comments during the @NatlGovsAssoc winter meetings
@jacouzi@BeisJim It is a real shame that they seem to have disregarded adding any bike paths on the corridor, but the plan looks very nice otherwise. I suspect there is more opposition towards new bike paths in the West Island, but it looks like bikes will still be allwed on the urban promenade.
Also, I’m not joking. We could pay for literally every item on the luxury gay space social democratic agenda — and have money leftover — if we stopped sautéing the car industry in all of our money.
@birds_rocks @BrentToderian@notjustbikes I have to say though, what the mall is pushing for is great. They WANT to develop the whole area and they already own the property but pointe-claire is blocking all of their projects.
@birds_rocks @BrentToderian@notjustbikes And the residents are protesting against the mall developing a patch of trees because of its "ecological significance" like this is steps away from a future light rail line go worry about something else
@rCanadaHousing I don't understand this, quebec city is connected in all the same ways as any other city in canada, like highways, airport, and passenger trains. It's just up north. They do build a lot of housing though.
