@markingofdesire Because seriously, what kind of person would hate somebody because they can love both a man and a woman? What kind of person thinks the idea of doing that is frightening and upsetting? Sexism is behind all of this.
@markingofdesire That's what happens when tons of "queer" communities dedicate themselves to demonizing and dehumanizing bi people because we...include multiple genders in our dating space. Sexism, gender roles, and purity culture has taken over, so conservative "queers" are terrified to be bi.
@titapisnotcake@dykegrrl I get that you haven't interacted with me before but I mostly date other women and I have met actual bi homophobes before. I'm just against you trying to separate some bi women from the others.
@rubymonpi@AnaVilluendasXy@EdreanGianne Rosalia faces biphobia because she’s bi. The fact that you’re erasing that and trying to “claim” all bi women with a woman as lesbians is just disgusting.
@dykegrrl I see those biphobia accounts talk about bi people who are with the same gender all the time. But hey, at least you got to pretend like only Bad people are bi and women who date other women are on your side, right?
@dykegrrl And did these biphobia accounts even see it? I saw bi women talking about her relationship previously. What exactly do you think you’re proving?
@biofrosting Most people who make biphobia accounts are responding to the biphobic queer people who directly cross your page. I wonder if you have ever interacted with the biphobic women who sexually harassed them before?
@Eliza131718@notzowie_@Zxoratheexplora Zero bi people are treating her poorly. Who is "y'all"? It sounds like you're trying to separate the bi community.
@titapisnotcake@dykegrrl Pretty crazy that this story is about a bi woman getting attacked, yet you somehow managed to twist it into bi women being horrible people as if she isn't one too. Biphobes clearly have an aversion to recognizing bi women's struggles without centering themselves.
@biofrosting@3sqis9 Stop pitting bi people against each other. If you don't support bi women no matter who they're dating, that means you don't support any of them. And if a bi woman does that, it means the same thing (they're biphobic too). What you're trying is obvious.
@bingbongscho@hyponogomy And yet, the vibe ended up being the opposite. Nobody expects gay men to be attracted to a woman, but people expect lesbians to like men. It's almost like we deep down see men as powerful beings that everyone is drawn to, while women are seen as sexual and domestic objects.
@hyponogomy It's possibly because being "expressive" or "different" is connected to femininity. But yeah it does lead to viewing women as never truly queer. It actually hurts lesbians too but they often perpetuate it by distancing themselves from bi women.
Remember that despite bi people were co-pioneers of the queer rights movement, bi activists had to fight for decades to be included in organizational names. Our presence was erased in media narratives and our activism sabotaged.
Happy pride to our elder bisexual activists

This makes sense, but I wonder how people would react if somebody said "if you say X is gay instead of bi, I'm laughing at you". Would that post gain thousands of likes? Could it be that some people find bisexuality to be more absurd and ridiculous than other sexualities?
if you tell me a historical figure was bisexual and then you cite her marriage to a man and her slew of passionate affairs with solely women i’m laughing at you
@catwives@sengrahamresign Well yes, but bi recognition in history is also incredibly important, bc bi erasure leads to (and has led to) the mistreatment of currently alive bi people. So people should just try to analyze that specific person as accurately as possible.
@sengrahamresign You're right that it should be assumed that woman is a lesbian, but there are many other examples that are more vague (i.e, what if it was one affair? what if she had good relationship with her husband?) Someone laughing at bi guesses makes me frown bc they're probably a biphobe
@cj110106@autumnstigmata@Randi_Sledge I think it is, because everything about those 90s books is just different than what gets published now. Now, there has to be a lightheartedness or satirical vibe to any kind of dark queer content. And popular content centers people who fit Christian, middle-class values
