From the videos, it appears that he narrowly escaped. Five rounds were fired, and his driver was injured. By God's grace, he escaped unharmed, and that is a big thing. The incident deserves the strongest condemnation. I met him just now and spoke to him. He sustained injuries to his right hand. His hand was burnt by gunpowder, and he also suffered injuries. His family, particularly his mother, is worried about their safety. They said they had no quarrel or enmity with anyone and questioned why they were attacked despite that. I assured them that the Mumbai Police and the Maharashtra government stand with them. The safety of the general public in Mumbai is our priority, and the safety of celebrities facing threats is equally important. Our government and the police will treat this matter as a priority. No gang or individual will be allowed to indulge in intimidation or hooliganism in Mumbai. No one will be spared... It appears that some gangs are trying to revive gang wars in Mumbai, but neither the police nor the government will allow such activities. The Chief Minister has taken this matter very seriously, and so have all of us. I also appeal to celebrities to immediately inform the police if they receive threatening calls from anyone. The police and the government will take all necessary measures to ensure their safety. I would only say that, just as gang wars were brought to an end in the 1990s, we will not allow them to return to Mumbai. The safety of every citizen, whether a member of the public or a celebrity, will remain our priority. No one involved will be spared."

தமிழ்த்திரையிசை உலகில் தனக்கெனத் தனித்துவமான இசை முத்திரையைப் பதித்து, தமிழ் மக்களின் இல்லங்களில் நீங்கா இடம்பிடித்த இசையமைப்பாளர் அன்பிற்குரிய ஐயா ‘தேனிசைத் தென்றல்’ தேவா அவர்களின் மறைவுச் செய்தியறிந்து பெரும் அதிர்ச்சியும், மிகுந்த மனவேதனையும் அடைந்தேன்.

தேவ கானம் என்று போற்றப்பட்ட தனித்துவமிக்க ‘கானா’ பாடல்களாலும், துள்ளல் இசையாலும், இனிமையான மெட்டுகளாலும், மண்ணின் மணம் கமழும் பாடல்களாலும் மக்களின் இதயத்தோடு இரண்டறக் கலந்த ஐயா தேவா அவர்களின் மறைவு இசையுலகிற்கு ஏற்பட்ட பேரிழப்பாகும். அவருடைய இன்னிசையில் வெளிப்பட்ட நாட்டுப்புறத் தன்மையும், எளிய மக்களின் உணர்வுகளை வெளிப்படுத்திய பாடல்களும் தமிழ்த் திரையிசை வரலாற்றில், காலத்தால் அழியாத தடங்களாக என்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கும்.

என்னுடைய முதல் படமான பாஞ்சாலங்குறிச்சியை தம்முடைய இன்னிசையால் வெற்றி காவியமாக்கிய ஐயா தேவா அவர்களின் மறைவு தனிப்பட்ட முறையில் என் மனதை மிகவும் கனக்கச் செய்கிறது. தமிழ் மண்ணின் மகத்தான இசைக்கலைஞன் ஐயா தேவா அவர்களை இழந்து வாடும் அவரது குடும்பத்தினருக்கும், உறவினர்களுக்கும், திரையுல நண்பர்களுக்கும், இசை ரசிகர்களுக்கும் என்னுடைய ஆறுதலை தெரிவிப்பதோடு, துயரினை பகிர்ந்துகொள்கிறேன்.

போற்றுதற்குரிய பெருமகன் ஐயா தேவா அவர்களுக்கு என்னுடைய கண்ணீர் வணக்கம்!

‘தேனிசைத் தென்றல்’ தேவா அவர்களின் மூச்சக்காற்று நின்றபோதும் அவர் படைத்தளித்த இசை காற்று தமிழர் உள்ளங்களில் என்றும் ஒலித்துக்கொண்டே இருக்கும்!
