Institutional repositioning starts with the people who make the institution work.
At @NASENIHQ, we are strengthening a culture that values performance, rewards excellence and prioritises staff welfare and growth.
Because a stronger institution is built by motivated people, clear purpose and a shared commitment to results.

At the Nigeria Public Service Lecture Series organised by @bpsr_ng, I shared NASENIās experience in driving institutional reform through digital transformation.
By digitising our core operations and empowering our staff, we are improving efficiency, transparency and accountability.
Technology provides the tools, leadership provides the vision, and people provide the momentum.
The future of public service is digital, data-driven and responsive.

Excerpt from the speech by the EVC/CEO of @NASENIHQ , Khalil Suleiman Halilu @KSHalilu during the visit by the Presidential Communications Team to the Agency Headquarters and various Partners Facilities In Abuja.
I asked @KSHalilu what legacy heād like to be remembered for when his work at @NASENIHQ is done.
His answer: An institution no one needs/requires āconnectionsā to impactfully engage/partner/collaborate with, to advance Nigeriaās industrial development.
And this isnāt a mere wish: NASENI has fully digitized access for potential partners. As part of its āpaperlessā reforms, you can now submit (serious) proposals digitally, for review by the agency, without needing to pull strings to get a physical meeting to pitch your idea before management.

And the pledge is that all serious and viable proposals will be given due consideration. (We saw this commitment just looking at the range of existing partners we encountered during the tour).
Enhancing Nigeriaās Food Security Efforts Through NASENIās Agricultural Mechanisation
Nigeria faces a food security paradox. With over 84 million hectares of arable land and a youth population of more than 60%, the country should feed itself and export to others. However, Nigeria spent N3.53 trillion on raw materials imports in the first half of 2025 alone, while post-harvest losses consumed up to 40% of staple crops annually. The naira weakens under the weight of imported food and machinery. Rural unemployment persists, and climate shocks expose the fragility of rain-fed, hoe-and-cutlass agriculture.

āNASENI has done really well. This agency was created in 1992, yet, in three years, you can see how Mr. Halilu has turned it around.ā
ā @aonanuga1956, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
The commendation came during the visit of HM @FMINONigeria, members of the Presidential Communications Team, the SA on Policy Coordination, @hadizabalausman, partners, and senior media professionals to NASENIās production facilities and showroom.
The delegation toured five factories to witness firsthand the homegrown technologies and industrial solutions driving President @officialABATās #RenewedHope and Nigeriaās industrial transformation.

There are many reasons why the Nigerian people will return President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to office in 2027, and we will not relent in showing and amplifying these to the world.
Every day, as we tour the country, we uncover more ā solid proof of the positive impact being made across Nigeria by the Renewed Hope Agenda: opportunities, jobs, incomes, skills, local content, etc.
Our visit to @NASENIHQ yesterday offered yet another powerful reminder of a vision crafted and being painstakingly implemented under President Tinubuās leadership, as Nigeria progresses on its journey of innovation and industrialization.
The EVC/CEO of NASENI, @KSHalilu, deserves great commendation for his unwavering commitment to the Presidentās agenda, and for a relentless focus on building bridges across public and private sectors to deliver tangible innovation.

One year ago, I shared our vision for building the NASENI Innovation Ecosystem. As part of that commitment, I was on site to inspect the ongoing construction of the NASENI Campus and to review progress with the project team.
The Campus will provide innovators emerging from programmes like #InnovateNaija with the environment to transform ideas into market-ready products and scalable businesses.
This is another step towards strengthening Nigeriaās innovation ecosystem and driving industrialization through homegrown technology.

Nigeria spent over N400bn importing solar products in 2025 and more than N200bn so far in 2026.
That is not just an import bill, it is a reminder of the production gap we must close as a nation.
Today, @NASENIHQ and @TheREANigeria, with @BPP_NGās support, took another step to change that.
Under President @OfficialABATās Nigeria First Policy, NASENI will supply locally manufactured solar solutions for REAās electrification projects.
Our goal is to reduce imports, create jobs, and strengthen Nigeriaās energy security.

As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (@officialABAT )marks 3 years in office on May 29, 2026, this NASENI (@NASENIHQ )documentary showcases how science and engineering are turning the Renewed Hope Agenda into reality.
Under the visionary leadership of EVC/CEO Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu (@KSHalilu ), discover how NASENIās locally made innovations from electric vehicles and CNG conversion centers to home solar solutions and clean energy power stoves are driving energy access, job creation, and sustainable growth for Nigerians nationwide.
When I assumed office, one of my first priorities at NASENI was to digitise our workflows and transition to paperless governance,
Today, we are fully paperless, powered by our ERP system, delivering greater efficiency, transparency, accountability, and speed.
In line with President @OfficialABATās directive, we are ready to support other MDAs to adopt this solution.
Indigenous clean energy solutions for every household across Nigeria.
That is the goal of NASENIās Sustainable Empowerment Programme, bringing practical, Nigerian-made solutions closer to the people.

Get out of peopleās way.
Real leadership isnāt control, itās restraint.
When you hire capable people, your job shifts.
Set the vision.
Define the outcome.
Establish the guardrails.
Then step back.
Micromanagement creates compliance.
Autonomy creates ownership.
Ownership creates excellence.
If you trust people enough to be in the room, trust them enough to think in it.
Guide. Align. Remove obstacles.
Then get out of the way.

Before 2023, NASENI had strong technical capacity but was not positioned as a brand. This led to low visibility, weak identity, and limited public understanding of its national role.
On assuming office, we deliberately repositioned NASENI from a research-focused agency to a visible, credible, innovation-driven national brand.
We simply moved from research to products, from unknown to national relevance, and from an agency to an innovation platform.
Today, NASENI is driving technology localisation, industrial production, and economic value creation which is moving Nigeria from consumption to creation.
Pleased to engage staff at the 2026 Orientation and Induction Programme on NASENI as a Strategic National Brand.
