More cops are getting stationed in schools in the rush to make buildings more secure. But that also means students are Tasered for teenage misbehavior.
We created an exclusive database tracking how often students have been Tasered in school by cops https://t.co/CSibyBhm3j
@AlanahjNuttall Setting the expectations at the beginning and then use different cues (e.g. maraca, bell, countdown, echo clap, secret code word-salame:stop and look at me, music, simon says without saying anything). I hope this helps! :)
I have implemented 3 strategies for cognitive closures: review of success criteria at the end of the lesson, questioning for revision and checking for understanding every 15-20 min during lessons. I found that you need to use all of them to create more meaningful lessons #acuedu_p
I am finding it quite difficult to ask effective questions from a student's reply to continue a reflective discussion at the end of a lesson. Does anyone have any tips on how I can improve this? #acuedu_p
@MoniqueEGeorge Was the selfie frame strategy a really effective way to motivate the students? I'm just curious on the outcomes as there are students in my class who could benefit from having a motivation strategy implemented into the lessons.
@MoniqueEGeorge To be honest it took me a while to find something that works with the class! At the beginning of each lesson I write up the goals and then discuss them with the students. For the Action Research I got students to do a self/peer evaulation with the goals at the end of the lessons
During my placement I used the success criteria for the cognitive closures in lessons. After seeing no progress throughout the week, I can now finally say that I've seen improvements in my teaching! #acuedu_p
@laurenjamesonn This idea sounds great! I would love to use this with my class in the future! When do you give out the speeding fine cards? Is it during the lesson and you place it next to them? Or do you put one in their books after the lesson when you mark their work?

A great resource to use but can sometimes be forgotten in the older grades. This resource can be used to check for students' understanding #acued_p https://t.co/SlEVWQiEN2
A book for teachers recommended by several teachers from the school that i am in for prac. It looks at the GRR model, how to get students to become independent learners and it provides strategies for students to develop their comprehension skills #acuedu_p
