Think of a situation...In the IITs, whatever seats are reserved for SC/ST students will of course be filled by them. Now, for the remaining seats, imagine that the highest-merit SC/ST students (those who studied well and scored 100 percentile) secure all the leftover seats.

If the concern is genuinely grassroots representation,show the data and design better targeting.

First of all, the basic factual error.....it was not the Gayatri Mantra.... It was " Shikshavalli ", the opening section of the " Taittiriya Upanishad " a classical Vedic text focused on the discipline of learning, pronunciation, nd the proper approach to knowledge.
