It is very sad and I am sorry to have to relate that @xeviuss has passed away.
Xeviuss struggled the last two years with a private battle with cancer that unfortunately came to an end this last Thursday.
Xeviuss had an extensive online network and I am certain the message will not get out to everyone, and those this message does reach might not know how often they have seen Xeviuss' work around them.
A truly oldschool member of the #FandomMenace and #comicsgate, Xeviuss refused to take sides whenever the core groups splintered or disagreed. Even as these lunch table factions were spitting at each other, they would stop and express their still sincere agreement in appreciation for this mans' art... that they both would be using for their avatars, banners, projects and logos.
In the conversations I had with him, Xeviuss still believed everyone was on the same side at their core, or at least believed it didn't actually matter since he was just "a gun for hire, for whoever was paying, which everyone should be anyway. Somebody somewhere just wants to know you can do the work and stay out of the politics." He also had a somewhat romanticized idea his art could be the bridge to get the conversation started for calmer heads to prevail, bring people back together. Though that probably was just his ego talking.
Xeviuss didn't suffer from humbleness and the internet wouldn't have let him do so anyway. It doesn't take a minute to find exceedingly positive commentary on his art, and he was connected to some very cool , very successful projects, names, and works that were always coming down the pipe.
I last sat down with Xeviuss two weeks ago, and he fell into a fairly routine habit of talking about the people he worked with and wanted to get back to doing some projects with again. He LOVED this community. Truly. Xeviuss wanted to see everyone succeed, and if he sat down on your show, was in the comments, was on your twitter feed, or connected with you in any way, it was because he thought you had something interesting and creative, or you were someone interesting and creative. He related this very often, expressing it to be the main reason he was a part of this online community.
I am very sorry for those that were close to Xeviuss, but are still finding out online by way of this message. As I said, the battle was fairly private. He was forced to tell a few people because of projects that were delayed and he had to tell me because he stopped drinking beers at the pub. He missed going on the live shows and connecting with everyone, but he knew it was starting to be displayed there as well and he wanted everyone to remember that radio quality voice and not ask why it had gotten so weak.
Gratefully, we do have the old shows, the art, and a very large group of friends he had that will ensure his memory doesn't fade. Maybe, his art can bring people back together. If even just for a time, or to only have this one expression of appreciation in common, that would be a lasting tribute to someone that gave a lot of energy and passion for the work he produced, which I think is the number one comment I see of Xeviuss' art.
"Your work is filled with so much energy and passion. Love it!" ~somebody somewhere, right now probably.
