So no official entrants for the #TPRedesignComp. The $252 prize has been donated to @OttTransitRider to help in their advocacy campaigns for more affordable, reliable, and accessible public transit in Ottawa. #octranspo
Amid America's #COVID19 disaster, I must come clean about a lie I spread as a health insurance exec: We spent big $$ to push the idea that Canada's single-payer system was awful & the U.S. system much better. It was a lie & the nations' COVID responses prove it. The truth: (1/6)
@OCTranspo you are testing my (and the rest of commuters) patience!! First the LRT breaks down. We have to wait in a huge line to catch the S1 to Tunney’s, then I finally get on my last bus home and that bus break down half-way home!!! This is ridiculous!! #ottLRT#octranspo
@Your_Comm_Voice My takeaway from the meeting was, and I’m quoting Alison verbatim: “There is no opportunity for design review [on the LRT stations] in these types of projects.”
Slippery tiles and broken escalators, redux? #OttawaLRT#ottLRT#octranspo
I am curious about whether the MTO keeps stats on vehicle counts on the Queensway. In my opinion, the best way to see if people are moving away from public transit is by looking at monthly vehicle counts for the last 6 months and make comparisons to previous years.
One of the things I have been thinking about are the stats that have been brought forward by @OC_Transpo regarding ridership numbers. I have seen more cars on the road, fewer people at the park and ride, and know from Twitter that many have started driving 1/2
So why are the @OC_Transpo stats showing an increase in ridership? One of two things could be happening 1. There are more riders, or 2. The quality of data from previous years was poor and the any data coming out of the LRT stations is artificially inflating the #'s
@ErtlAnthony @JFClaude_GC @ottawacity@OC_Transpo@OttTransitRider I'd tell him every commute feels like a crisis now, like a bloody evacuation with ppl snapping pictures for social media and panicking, walking around confused and disoriented. It's constant chaos. It's unhealthy to be in that daily state.
