Very nice. I had to do a very narrow take within this to build just an argument that external historical narratives (as In Jewish/Christian texts) aren't said to be a past revelations. This makes modern discussions like differences between narratives, at least theologically, pointless in itself.

And a second point deserves mentioning. Why would even be there a general classical interset in running deep investigations into the historical reliability of reports ... when in fact they do not claim it.
I recently read claims saying that, researcher X proved that some Hadith, which all centuries was true, proved that it is a later invention. The only point this saya, is someone jumping to collections...without reading the classical discussions concerning the epistemological and historical value of it. This of course is manifesting is the translation Sahih = authentic. The claims by a limited Islamic strand ..magically converted to claims of majority of classical Islam.

There behind this an essential issue, that the method relies on
the reports in certain collections, which are really just a subset of the reports circulated at the time. It gets worst when it implicitly excludes what the collections excluded as unreliable. We end up at best with CLs from a filtered data, not a historical CL.

The important point further in the post you shared ..that the present method initial data collection itself is problematic. Because it relies on the reports survived in the canonical collections. Which are evidently filtered from much larger (different chains for the same or similar contents). This include narrators excluded for being unreliable.

The prior revelations are indeed preserved by the time of Quran, and no reason to assume this isn't continuous, and there is not dilemma with this, for their contents are predefined. The arguments to ask people of scriptures , however, has zero to do with this.

Well ..certainly I can have it both ways. Even without attempting to explain why : The report does not obligate muslims to believe that women mind is deficient. There is nothing to "act upon" in such statement. Which is typically what Hadith necessities : An action, not a belief. The arabic wording summarizes this are : خبر الواحد يفيد العمل، ولا يفيد العلم
