@mgsiegler Tons of AI acquisitions, yet Siri remains unimproved after 13 years! A mega acquisition won’t fix it—unless it’s OpenAI, which is unlikely. The issue runs deeper in their software/DNA. Apple’s ML/AI has lagged behind, even pre-Gen AI, especially compared to Google!

You all have probably heard about a US judge declaring that Google (Search) is a monopoly. He has not yet specified what remedy Google must take, and Google also is going to file an appeal – so the outcome is by no means determined at this point.

It is pertinent to note, however, that it’s not a perfect classification – for example, is Google in the Search business or Ads business? Its share of the market will change based on how you look at it.
