Ein paar Punkte zu Ceuta.

Ceuta ist nicht Europa 🇪🇺. Ceuta ist eine Enklave Spaniens 🇪🇸 in Nordafrika im histor. Marokko, ein Überbleibsel der spanischen Kolonialherrschaft.

Der Zeitpunkt ist relevant. Spaniens Premier Pedro Sanchez besuchte vor einigen Tagen nach vier Jahren erstmals wieder Algerien 🇩🇿, Marokkos Rivalen in der Region, was dem marokkanischen König 🇲🇦 nicht gefällt.

Spanien hat aktuell extrem schlechte Beziehungen zu 🇮🇱 und den USA 🇺🇸. Zwei der engsten politischen Partner des marokkanischen Königs. Dass Israel und die USA ein Interesse an Problemen für Spanien haben, liegt auf der Hand.

Die Emotion der Menschen in Ceuta ist echt. Selbst wenn einige geschickt worden wären, versuchen Tausende ihr Glück. Die Jugend sieht in Marokko kaum Zukunft und will um jeden Preis weg.

Rechte labern von „Invasion“. Wer in Ceuta einreist - selbst legal - ist offiziell noch nicht in die EU eingereist. Ceuta gehört nicht zum Schengen-Raum und um von dort aufs spanische Festland zu gelangen, braucht man Visum oder positiven Asylprozess. Spanien und Marokko verkündeten bereits, alle Personen zurückzuführen.

Das Geschehen hat somit keine konkreten Folgen. Außer dass weltweit gegen Sanchez, Spanien, Migranten und Muslime gehetzt wird. Man kann sich also selbst zusammenreimen, wessen Interessen aktuell bedient werden.

We watched the footage from Ceuta. Here's what actually happened.

Ceuta is not Europe. It's a Spanish enclave in North Africa. Colonial leftover.

Crossing that fence doesn't get you into the EU. Ceuta isn't Schengen. Spain and Morocco already said everyone gets sent back.

There is no invasion.

Now the timing.

Sánchez went to Algiers on 20 July. First visit in four years. Algeria is Morocco's rival.

Ten days later the fence opens.

Morocco did this in 2021 too. 8,000 crossed. Spain changed its Western Sahara position within a year.

Morocco's closest allies: Washington and Tel Aviv. Spain's relations with both are at rock bottom.

Nine people died at a fence.

Within hours it was "invaders," "the Moors colonised Spain," "the migrants are the real problem."

That's what got built from their deaths.

Con la sentenza definitiva per l'omicidio di Saman Abbas si chiude una dolorosa vicenda giudiziaria.

Saman, giovane di origine pakistana in Italia, è stata uccisa dai suoi genitori e da alcuni familiari dopo essersi opposta a un matrimonio forzato e aver rivendicato il diritto di scegliere liberamente il proprio futuro.

Nessuna sentenza potrà restituirle la vita, ma è giusto che i responsabili di questo barbaro delitto siano stati condannati in via definitiva.

In Italia non c'è spazio per chi pretende di negare, in nome di presunte giustificazioni culturali o religiose, la libertà, la dignità e la vita di una donna. Questi sono principi irrinunciabili sui quali non arretreremo mai.

Il mio pensiero va a Saman. Che possa finalmente riposare in pace.
