Our @BBC@microbit_edu kit ordered a few days ago just arrived. They represent a milestone for our STEM Center & Library. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a step.
Goal: We shall CREATE, LEARN & CODE with the leaders of NOW/FUTURE

It is another day with our solar ambassadors at Sustainable Actions Afrika . Gaining the right skills to harness FREE and abundantly available solar energy.
In the last decade countries in the Global South, have witnessed a surge in solar energy adoption.
One of the greatest challenges for adoption & penetration of this alternative is the lack of trained solar technicians. That is why @saafrika_ has embarked on empowering young people with the knowledge,& skills needed to contribute in powering communities with clean solar energy
75% of the population in rural communities in Cameroon remain without electricity. This means no access to quality education, no access to health care, no access to clean drinking water. Solar systems are fast becoming reliable and affordable alternatives in these communities.
💸Renewables are too expensive? Think again.
Solar ☀️ and wind are now the cheapest sources of new power in many parts of Africa. To mark #LCAW2025, @rkyte365 explains why clean energy isn’t a luxury - it’s a smart investment.

Cameroon has a potential for solar energy generation of over 5 GW and currently, the installed capacity is around 60 MW (just 0.12 %) . Hence there is the need to train local solar actors to contribute in installing the more than 49,000 MW still to be harnessed.
...the lack of skilled solar technicians is one of the biggest barriers to long-term energy access. Panels may be donated, but when faults occur, systems often lie abandoned because there’s no one trained to fix them. Join us for more impact.
We believe that access to solar energy is not just about installing panels; it's about building local capacity to manage, maintain, and innovate around renewable energy solutions. In many parts of Africa, especially in crisis-affected and under-resourced communities like Bamenda.
1/4According to the World Bank, 75% of Cameroon's rural population remains without electricity, even though many live near the grid. Stand-alone solar systems offer energy solutions where the grid doesn’t reach.
3/4 That’s why are training youths on solar technology. And we are proud to include more young women in this technical training. Solar is not just for men. It's for anyone ready to build a sustainable future by promoting a sustainable access to clean energy.
This summer, our learners are swapping pens and books for pliers and wires. At Pathfinders STEM Hub, Bamenda-Cameroon 🇨🇲 , they’re spending the holidays building, creating, and exploring with our hands-on STEM kits from @nervtek_cii. Innovation never takes a break.
