@adabel_sdsu@megandfigueroa No figure is perfect but I feel we gave a lot of thought on communicating these complex patterns visually. Thanks for the feedback in any case - after studying prenatal stress 10 years, I personally care a whole lot about how things are communicated to the general public. :)
@adabel_sdsu@megandfigueroa And, for clinical and policy levels, it is important to identify the importance of risks and the complexity of how different risks are intertwined. Otherwise, other health issues than psychosocial are easily prioritized in the health care if expecting families.
@adabel_sdsu@megandfigueroa It is important also to identify to whom a research paper is oriented to - this one is for researchers, clinicians and policymakers, not primarily for parents. But just talked about these matters to 700 expecting (high-risk) parents, with lots of positive feedback!

@adabel_sdsu@megandfigueroa The review does not deal with only mothers but aspects of caregiving, social support and SES are similarly applicable to fathers - there is just too little existing research to review atm. Been involved in papers about paternal well-being too and consider it equally relevant.
@adabel_sdsu@megandfigueroa Furthermore, if you know the literature on adversity, no evidence points out to any risks being deterministic. Child development is extremely multifactorial, and individual effect sizes are typically small. Many things matter there.

Our paper revealing longitudinal associations between maternal psychosocial stress, newborn hippocampal volume and social-emotional development written w. Drs. Nora Moog, @CBuss13, @jerodras and colleagues is now out in Neurobiology of Stress! https://t.co/bPNJMK957R
Our study on newborn brain and sensitivity conducted with @CBuss13, @jerodras, Dr. Alice Graham and other colleagues appears one of the most popular of the @fluxDCN journal. #newborn#newbornbrain#sensitivity
Our study shows that larger newborn amygdala volumes may relate to poorer working memory, but not parent-reported self-regulation in toddler girls https://t.co/f5Gziests6 @FinnBrainStudy
