Don't waste 2 years learning to build LLMs like Claude & ChatGPT.
Stanford just dropped a 2 hour course on how to build LLMs from scratch.
• 00:00 - LLM tokenization
• 25:44 - how LLMs decode user prompts
• 35:40 - training pipeline of LLMs
• 1:16:47 - LLM architecture from scratch
Anthropic pays $750,000/year to engineers who understand this exact knowledge of LLMs.

@gajak06 His mistake will be paid by his family. Hope he has a brother who can look after his mother and father. Even more tragic & unfortunate if he left his kids fatherless.
Charlie Munger on India: "One of my favorite tricks is the inversion process."
"If somebody hired me to fix India, I would immediately say, 'What could I do if I really wanted to hurt India?' I'd figure out all the things that could most easily hurt India — and then I'd figure out how to avoid them."
"It works better frequently to invert the problem."
@milindjajodia@PTI_News What could be better than this? Harvard is renowned for giving Olympic medalists. Perfectly aligns with her goals. I wish I knew any of these things back in school or someone to guide.

IN 1999 MIT FILMED A MATH LECTURE THAT QUIETLY BECAME THE FOUNDATION OF EVERY AI MODEL YOU'VE EVER USED AND ALMOST NO ONE WAS TAUGHT TO SEE IT THAT WAY
39 minutes from Gilbert Strang, who taught this at MIT for over 60 years -- the linear algebra course an entire generation of engineers and data scientists grew up on.
-> The shift it creates: you stop seeing matrices as boring grids of numbers and start seeing them as the language of space, data, and motion itself.
School drilled you to crunch matrices by hand and never told you why. Strang shows you what they actually mean.
Every neural net, every embedding, every model you prompt is linear algebra running underneath. The math you skipped is the engine of the thing you use all day.
Memorizing the steps was never the skill -> seeing what the numbers do is. This is where it finally clicks.
Most people fear linear algebra and move on. The ones who watched this see straight into how AI actually works.

Lecture 13: Portfolio Management. taught by Jake Xia, former Morgan Stanley practitioner who now manages endowment capital.
free. no paywall. 1 hour.
he starts by handing every student a blank piece of paper and saying: "you have $10,000. write down your portfolio. use your intuition. don't think too hard."
then he spends the next hour showing them why almost every decision they made was wrong.
the most important line from the whole lecture: "portfolio construction is really about sizing. it all comes down to sizing."
this is one of the best free lectures on portfolio management available anywhere. bookmark it.

Rajasthani originally used scripts derived ultimately from Sharda, much like the other North-Western languages. Over the ages, the Nagari script grew dominant, and Rajasthani adopted it in turn, just as Marathi and Sindhi did within India, and not altogether unlike the manner in which the languages of Pakistan took up Shahmukhi.
English, Dutch, and German have no script of their own, they make use of the Latin alphabet. Russian uses an alphabet which honestly is just a Slavic rendering of the Greek writing system. And if one cares to look back far enough, every writing system in Europe, the Middle East, the Subcontinent, and South-East Asia descends ultimately from the Phoenician abjad, which in turn traces its origin to the writings of Ancient Egypt.
Every letter of English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Javanese carries within it the mummified fossil of some Ancient Egyptian logogram. Shall we then argue, on this ground, that Ancient Egyptian alone is a proper language? Would any serious person contend that Japanese is a mere dialect of Mandarin because it borrows the Chinese writing system?
