This was my last week of a wonderful summer with the @seattletimes. I came into this internship with little pro photo experience and a lot of worries about not being able to cut it. Instead, I found:
How do you talk about your gender in a language you can’t speak that well — a language where the pronouns for “he” and “she” sound the same? Had the incredible honor of co-reporting this one with @izzyabloom for @NPRCodeSwitch https://t.co/DRE4SO9bJT
So thrilled to share my @ucbsoj thesis airs on NPR Code Switch this week, along with a story that I co-reported with my friend and the exceptional storyteller @elenaneale17 AND hosted by my inspiring mentor @RadioMirage https://t.co/ifP3o5mn2W
For @PPPSWHealth, out-of-state patients make up 21% of abortion visits — a 513% increase since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Read my latest @sfchronicle to learn how CA reproductive health care providers are handling this surge of out-of-state patients.

Steve and Andrea Ward were married at their Midpines home two weeks ago surrounded by family. Saturday night, they watched as the Oak Fire burned it to the ground. I talked to them about what that home meant | @sfchronicle https://t.co/tbuNW5xkUp

NEW: An effort to add oversight to the homelessness dept is poised for the November ballot, as 7 supes confirmed their support.
This comes in response to our year-long investigation into the squalid conditions inside much of SF's housing for the homeless

#journorequest, please help! Looking to talk to women in Fresno who have been pregnant during wildfire smoke for a story about housing, climate change, and health. Thanks! @BlackWPCenter@UCSFPTBI
I've been keeping an eye #RicesFire for @sfchronicle. In an update, @CAL_FIRE confirmed today that the wildfire was a result of a burning building. The cause of the fire in building is still being investigated.

REMINDER TO JOURNALISTS:
While reporting todays news, keep in mind this ruling impacts people who are able to get pregnant. This is not exclusive to only those identifying as a woman.
1/9 BREAKING: @margoasnipe here. The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a decision that will limit abortion access and potentially exacerbate racial disparities in births. The impacts will fall disproportionately on Black women, who make up about 1/3 of abortions nationwide.
My first big audio piece for @KMUW's The Range podcast is out today. I had a lot of fun producing this one. Listen wherever you find your podcasts and live on 89.1fm today ~
