" The idea of Constitutional Supremacy is anti majority rule. It’s a liberal constitution opposed to the will of the people/majority. You can win a a two thirds majority on the basis you want to expropriate land without compensation or you wish to pass a progressive law that benefits the majority. You can be taken to court and court of unelected judges tells you it is unconstitutional. We already have a problematic Constitution that protects private property etc.

The Boers had Parliamentary Sovereignty or Parliamentary Supremacy. Nxamalala has been saying we need to go back to that so that the majority that wins an election can implement its electoral mandate without the judiciary stopping it. If people are unhappy, they can vote for a new government in the next elections and reverse the laws. The U.K., Israel and many other countries also use Parliamentary Supremacy/Sovereignty, not this Constitutional Supremacy which undermines democracy. Unelected people continue to second guess elected people,and even reverse their decisions..."
