Over 13 billion UPI transactions per month is an impressive number, and it's only getting bigger. In the last 12 months, the volume and value of transactions have grown by 51% and 40%, respectively. FastTag alone recorded 338 million transactions worth approximately USD 700 million in March 2024. To keep up with this growth, banks have invested heavily in technology infrastructure, with technology spend increasing to 7-9% of operating expenses. However, managing this infrastructure is a significant challenge, with banks facing a complex web of issues. It's clear that the digital payment revolution is here to stay, and banks must continue to innovate and adapt to meet the needs of their customers.
