#WATCH | Delhi: Blast near Red Fort Metro Station | Union Home Minister Amit Shah says "This evening, around 7 pm, a blast occurred in a Hyundai i20 car at the Subhash Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort in Delhi. The blast injured some pedestrians and damaged some vehicles. Preliminary reports indicate that some people have lost their lives. Within 10 minutes of receiving the information of the blast, teams from the Delhi Crime Branch and Delhi Special Branch arrived at the spot. The NSG and NIA teams, along with the FSL, have now begun a thorough investigation. Orders have been given to examine all nearby CCTV cameras. Tax Notices to Bakeries & Condiment Vendors Not Issued by Central Government!!!

The recent tax notices served to small traders including bakeries and condiment vendors demanding lakhs in dues under GST, have caused widespread anxiety. It must be clarified that these notices are not from the Central Government but are actions taken by the State Commercial Tax Department.

This move, aimed at bringing even small-scale traders under the GST net abruptly and without prior awareness campaigns, is deeply concerning. It appears to be an attempt by the State Government to recover revenue lost due to unscientific financial guarantees by burdening the common trader.

Such actions are discouraging UPI usage in local businesses, undermining the nation’s digital payment ecosystem and creating fear among merchants. Without any prior guidance or awareness, backdated tax notices for four to five years have been served this is unacceptable.

Efforts to falsely portray this as a Central Government decision are misleading. While current GST rules apply only to businesses with turnover above ₹40 lakh, this sudden enforcement is a veiled attempt to gradually push small traders into the GST ambit.

We strongly urge the State Government to immediately withdraw these notices. Instead of creating confusion and fear, the government should focus on awareness, transparency, and supporting digital transactions rather than weakening them.
