A shocking incident in Dublin saw an African migrant allegedly follow a young mother and attempt to attack her 16-month-old baby with a sharp broken can. The terrified mother fled as he closed in; the baby suffered head injuries in the chaos.

Bystanders helped restrain the man until Gardaí arrived. He reportedly menaced officers during the arrest before being taken into custody. He has since been charged with assault causing harm to the woman and the baby and remanded in custody.
