This case is a classic example of zero punishment equals zero accountability. These idiots would have already been in jail in years gone by. Instead they're given a paltry fine or conditional discharge and now lots of people are dead. Britain needs a total reset.
@JEPnews Is Le Moye being run on a “one out, one in” basis like Green Street car park at rush hour?
Only explanation for keeping so many repeat offenders wandering around Jersey
@JEPnews “A young offender who skipped six probation appointments – weeks after breaching another court order…has been given “one more chance” to stay out of prison.”
He’s already had 7 chances, but what the hell, may as well give him an 8th chance. 👍
@JEPnews She’s been found guilty, so that is a fact
But can anyone shed light on how prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that an offense happened decades ago when it is essentially one persons word against another?
Many examples of not guilty verdicts in those circumstances
@JEPnews If only she wasn’t shown leniency by the courts last year when she was convicted of smuggling drugs into prison, a crime which usually carries a custodial sentence
Instead she was given probation so she could carry on offending in the community
Great works everyone involved
@ANDYDB7 Presumably by importing people from extremely poor countries who are happy to work for a pittance, live in sub standard accommodation and pay no tax
Source: the agriculture and fishery “industries” in Jersey
@JEPnews Helping tourists understand the car parking systems would be helpful, or perhaps revising and standardising them
Currently there’s app, tickets you have to hunt around for in shops and various coloured discs
Just make it easy for everyone to understand and comply
@JEPnews Your headline should be
‘Teenager who raped a much younger child gets probation’
Shame on the judiciary for this pathetic sentence. Imagine being that younger child’s parent or grandparent. How is this justice?
@JEPnews This allows an immigrant to pay social security (SS) in their home country, exempting them (and their employer) from local SS payments
This means it’s less expensive for a UK firm to employ an Indian than a local
Presumably Jersey will be impacted in the same way? @TheOnlyGuru
@ANDYDB7@markboleat@JEPnews One was for the community so clearly the powers that be weren’t keen as it bruised some egos in the Gov
The other is for a UHNW, so sooner or later anything goes
