This lady is an ignorant person. Thank God I saw it because I was about going to bed.

This entire script is not her original thought. It is entirely copy-pasted from the modern progressive and Quranist movements. These ideologies gained a lot of ground during the colonial era. Don’t be surprised that she has leaders she is following their footsteps. The likes of Amina Wadud and Fatima Mernissi.

These two misguided women were the ones who popularized this specific argument that the head-covering is just an old Arab cultural tradition.

Their primary goal has always been to dilute Islamic rulings to make them acceptable to Western secular standards. They operate by rejecting the Sunnah, by ignoring classical Arabic dictionaries, and reinterpreting the Quran using modern English logic. This was the way of Rashad Khalifa who later claimed prophethood. It is a very deceptive methodology.

Now, let’s get to the root of her ignorance and misguidance.

First of all, She spent half the video arguing that the word "Hijab" in the Quran means a wall or a barrier. Every basic student of knowledge knows this. The early generations knew this.

The Quran had a specific word usage for clothing of a Muslim woman. The Quran uses Khimar and Jilbab to describe the clothing of a Muslim woman.

But over time, the Ummah adopted "Hijab" as an umbrella term for modesty and the covering. This is the label name we adopted. You would notice that all she did was to attack the label (name). What about the actual ruling?

Any serious student of knowledge knows the binding fiqhi principle that destroys her entire argument:

العبرة بالحقائق والمعاني لا بالألفاظ والمباني
"Consideration is given to the realities and meanings, not to the words and structures."

Whether we call it Hijab, Khimar, or Jilbab today, the legal ruling of covering the head and body remains the same. Therefore, attacking a label to dodge a divine command is a cheap distraction to make it seem like she discovered a hidden secret. She only exposed her ignorance.

Guess what she did next? She wanted to manipulate the term “Khimar”

Funnily, this is where her lack of Arabic comprehension is exposed. She quoted Surah An-Nur verse 31, where Allah commands believing women to draw their Khumur over their chests. Khumur is the plural of Khimar.

Her argument is that women in Jahiliyyah already wore headcovers to protect themselves from the heat, so the Quranic command was only to cover the chest. She claims covering the hair was just cultural.

Now, let us look at the Arabic root. The root word for Khimar is Kha-Meem-Ra. In classical Arabic, it means to conceal or cover. It is the very same root used for Khamr, which means intoxicants, because alcohol covers the intellect. In the Arabic lexicon, a Khimar is “exclusively” a covering for the head.

The women before Islam wore the Khimar on their heads but they would throw the ends behind their backs. This left their ears, necks, and upper chests completely exposed. The Quran commanded them to take that very head-cover and pull it forward over their chests. The mandate to cover the hair is built right into the word itself.

The most glaring error in her video is that she completely bypassed the Sunnah. You cannot interpret the Quran while throwing away the understanding of the Prophet who received it and the companions who lived it. It is not possible. Maybe that’s why she is misguided.

Let me help you understand.

First of all, the claim that Arabic is a totally alien language to Jews and Christians is historically illiterate. Arabic, Hebrew, and Aramaic (the language of Jesus) are sister languages that belong to the Semitic language family.

They share the same root structures, grammatical frameworks, and theological vocabulary. For instance, the Hebrew word for God is Elohim. The Aramaic word is Allaha. The Arabic word is Allah.

Therefore, to a 7th-century Jewish or Christian population living in the Near East, Arabic was not a bizarre, unrecognizable tongue from the outer space. It was a closely related linguistic cousin.

Secondly, you asked why God would send a final revelation in Arabic if it was meant to correct previous scriptures.

Well, I have a response for you from the Quran. The Quran answers this directly by stating the universal law of how guidance is delivered:

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ
"And We sent not a messenger except with the language of his people, in order that he might make things clear for them." (Surah Ibrahim, 14:4)

Why is it so? Just like prophet Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon him), every messenger must be born into a specific geographic location and speak the native language of the immediate community around him.

If the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in Mecca to an Arab audience, it would be completely irrational for the revelation to descend in Hebrew or Greek. The first audience must understand the message perfectly so they can document it, preserve it, and then transmit it to the rest of the world.

Maybe you may not know, but I see that you assume the Jews and Christians of that era were living in isolated European pockets and had to suddenly learn Arabic through a textbook. Naa!

In reality, major Jewish and Christian populations lived right inside the Arabian Peninsula and across the Levant. The Jewish tribes of Medina spoke and wrote Arabic as their primary language. They did not face a language barrier.

For instance, when the Prophet arrived in Medina, prominent Jewish scholars recognized the theological corrections immediately because they understood the text.

A prime historical example is Abdullah ibn Salam, the chief rabbi of Medina and a master of the Torah. When he heard the Prophet speak, he recognized the truth of the message and accepted Islam on the spot. He did not need to learn a new language; he just needed to look at the theological coherence of the message.

Again, your argument that Christians and Jews must learn an entirely new language just to see how the scriptures were fixed is pointed to the fact that you are still a minor in this propaganda work.

The core theological corrections brought by Islam are straightforward and do not require a degree in classical Arabic linguistics to comprehend. Islam corrected specific, monumental theological deviations:

1) It rejected the concept of the Trinity and returned to pure, uncompromised monotheism.

2) It cleared the names of previous prophets from the moral slander attributed to them in older texts (such as the stories of David and Lot).

3) It established that salvation is based on faith and righteous deeds, rather than genetic lineage or a divine sacrifice.

These concepts have been translated, discussed, and debated in Greek, Latin, Syriac, and Hebrew for over a thousand years.

Millions of Jews and Christians over centuries understood these corrections perfectly through translation and dialogue, which is precisely why millions of them in Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Persia voluntarily accepted Islam within the first few generations.

Someone needs to collate all the debate material, audio/video between Muhammad Yusuf, the founder of BH, and Clerics like the Late Sheikh Idris Dutsen Tanshi, Mallam Isah Ali Pantami…etc and lectures by Late Albani Zaria, Late Sheikh Ja’afar…etc. There is a treasure trove of information that could provide clarity into the ideological dogma of BH/ISWAP/Ansaru…etc, and would put things into clear academic perspective preserved for the future so as to enable horizon scanners, to build resilience against what could come in the future.

For the Military, such documentation could form the basis of materials for training at the Officer Cadet level, and other strategic levels of Military Command trainings.

Nigeria owes the world the history and evolution of this cancer that we are still fighting, but more than anything else, as a lesson learnt the hard way, and a story that is still unfolding.

70% of those that call themselves Hausa have Fulani blood in them in states like Kano, Kaduna and Katsina mainly due to extensive intermarriages.

This is the reason the term Hausa-Fulani was created. In state like Borno, Adamawa, Gombe Bauchi, Taraba etc you get pure Fulani .

Hausa is now a Lingua Franca 90% of it's speakers are not genetically Hausa. Hausa have atleast 150M speakers in the world but less than 15M are ethnic Hausa

So those thinking that they can use propaganda to separate Hausa and Fulani especially in north west are embarking on a futile work.
