Two years
and I do not know if the sacrifice was worth it.
What I do know
is that for a brief moment,
the guns have fallen silent.
And silence,
in our time,
is the nearest thing to hope.
Two years we stood alone,
our shadows for company,
our children asking questions the sky refused to answer.
Two years without a guiltless smile,
without a meal that didn’t taste of absence.
Two Years
I can’t believe it.
Two years of war,
and the smoke still sits inside our lungs.
Two years of senseless death
names without graves,
graves without names.
Two years of injustice,
where truth itself grew tired and stopped shouting.
“Every day in Gaza is a new season of death.”
A Palestinian photographer shared a video comparing the crowds at a Gaza aid distribution site with the Kaaba in Mecca to highlight the situation Palestinians are in and to condemn the “global silence” towards Gaza.
So relieved to learn that freedom of the press only matters when it doesn’t make Israel uncomfortable.
Apparently, the First Amendment has a disclaimer:
“Void where inconvenient to allies.”

I’ve been asking myself:
Why doesn’t the world react to what I see on Aljazeera about Gaza?
Then I realized — it’s because they don’t see it.
Not because it’s not happening.
But because journalists are banned.
Completely
If what’s happening in Gaza is so justified —
why hide it?
If it’s so “righteous,”
why silence journalists?
If this is war,
why allow only one side to speak?
Because truth isn’t dangerous — unless you’re hiding something.
