Every child deserves the best start in life, to be born safely, exclusively breastfed for 6 months, vaccinated and well nourished…#InvestmentInChildren is investment in economic growth, peace and stability 👶🏾🤍👶🏾
Mariam Zachariah, a teacher in Maiduguri, is learning new ways to make reading engaging through songs and rhymes.

UNICEF is committed to supporting Africa CDC and countries across 🌍 in advancing Africa’s health security and sovereignty agenda. Strong, resilient primary health care—reaching every child and every community—is one of our most powerful pathways to sustainable health security.
15 years on, we remember the 23 colleagues and partners who lost their lives in the tragic attack on the @UN House in Abuja.
Their lives, service and memory will not be forgotten.
We continue to hold their families and loved ones in our hearts.
May their souls rest in peace.
When an African woman breaks a barrier, she expands the realm of possibility for women and girls across our continent.
A profound honor to reconnect with H.E. @SahleWorkZewde, the first woman to serve as President of Ethiopia. Her journey embodies the transformative power of women’s leadership in politics, public service and development and the promise of an Africa shaped by courage, wisdom and purpose. Since my first encounter with her in Nairobi, l have followed her journey which has been truly inspirational.

At our meeting with Senegal’s Prime Minister, we discussed how UNICEF can help address the tens of millions of children out of school and reduce child mortality across West Africa during @PR_Diomaye's @ecowas_cedeao Chairmanship - investing in peace and security.

Great engagement with @GovBorno, and high-level government officials yesterday in Maiduguri.
In company with @UN HC @MohamedFall and other heads of agencies, we are collaborating on improved investments in recovery and lifesaving interventions for children affected by conflict.
Today in Maiduguri, @DrRownakKhan joins @MohamedFall and other heads of agencies to honour departed humanitarian colleagues.
This #WorldHumanitarianDay, we acknowledge their resolve to #ActForHumanity.
Your legacy of sacrifice for children affected by conflict lives on!
A second chance at learning can change everything.
After being out of school, 14-year-old Ismail is back in the classroom through the TaRL programme in Borno State.
Now, he's working towards his dream of becoming a doctor and helping others.

Ramatu experienced severe floods in 2001 and 2023. Today, she helps families prepare for the next one by sharing early warnings and practical safety information.
With support from the @EUinNigeria, and @nrcs_ng, communities are better prepared to act early and stay safer.
#Cholera is spreading across borders in West and Central Africa, putting millions of children at risk. We know how to prevent and stop it, but a mobile epidemic demands coordinated action across borders - not isolated efforts.
We need all partners and donors to join forces, coordinate action and mobilize rapid emergency funding to protect children and save lives across West and Central Africa.

On #InternationalYouthDay, I am inspired and energized by the dynamism, creativity and determination of Nigeria’s young people. Their ideas, ambition and courage to shape a better future give me great hope. At UNICEF, we are proud to stand with them as they turn that hope into action. 🇳🇬💙
Young people are building, interrogating, and leading in ways that are changing the world around them.
This #InternationalYouthDay, UNICEF celebrates young people and their contributions, with @unicefchief and @SaeedWafaa reflecting on the possibilities that young people bring.
Distance should never stand between a woman and the care she needs.
Through the Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus Elimination campaign, health workers are bringing tetanus vaccines directly to communities across Katsina State, helping mothers and newborns stay protected.
